Although much of the country is in the grip of winter weather, and the Bay Area today has cold rain, these daffodils give promise of a warm spring to come! Seen yesterday in my neighborhood.
Somehow I missed receiving my invitation to the royal garden party so I guess it's off to the cafe for me. (Surprisingly, the food was very good there but not cheap.)
(blogged as: Katherine's Factory of Mystery and Wonder) My so-called-award-winning blog has been too half-assed and depressing and I haven't been posting there enough for a while now, so I try to make up for it by posting some photos there first. A whole bunch from this abandoned factory--I'll eventually have a Flickr set for it, but I've been catching up on vacation and/or friend photos here lately. I'm sure there's a boring explanation for all the "Man Doors" signs, but I found them hilarious!
I love playing around with abstract photography. It's like poetry where you have to suspend our agreed upon reality and feel the colors, lines, patterns.

A sign of the times, another closed down shop leaving deserted high streets as out of town shopping and internet shopping rips the heart out of traditional town centres.
I first noticed this building in the winter. I finally tracked it down again. At night the neon lights up.
This leftover polaroid type 84 film has been VERY unpredictable.
Another of the many funny translated safety signs posted at tourist locations throughout China. This sign as posted on at the entrance to the shaky suspended foot bridge at the entrance to the Shibaozhai Pagoda. The pagoda is located on the northern bank of Yangtze River, to the east of Chongqing.
A retro-style sign for the Thunderbird Motel prominently features neon lights and bold lettering. Located on a quiet street, the advertisement highlights amenities like clean rooms, color TV, and cable HBO.
