I do not fear stormy seas for I have learned to sail my boat.
Sometime over the summer this sign appeared on the gate to the Chelsea Group of Children on Magdalen Road. I like.
The hand-painted sign for a computer store in Kolkata, India. I love the hand-painted corporate logos, such a far cry from the computer-generated perfection of the products sold inside.
This sign is located on Thompson Street btwn Bleecker and Houston. To get to the height of the sign I put the camera on an extended monopod and used a wireless shutter release.
Greg Lowry was updating the "Coffee By The Bag" sign at Jo's Coffee on South Congress in Austin, Texas.
I saw signs like this all over Amish country.... urging us "Englishers" to be careful while in our automobiles.

This rickety old produce stand survived Katrina, and stood empty for months. I resisted the temptation to go pry this sign off to hang on my kitchen wall. Then a tornado blew through there and destroyed the stand. Now there's a new one, with pre-fab pieces and nothing as interesting as this. You can still get your Creole tomatoes there, though.

An example of a sign that was translated too literally. Su and I saw this at a public bathroom on Xihu (West Lake) in Hangzhou. The ladies bathroom sign, much to Su's dismay, did not read "Female Man."
I have to disagree with the "Tops in Food" part. I can appreciate their sign though. Bardstown Road.

Saw my first McCafe tonight - on the mass pike. Sorry I didn't get a pic of it. It looked a bit starbuck-ish.

Interstate 405 (I-405, and colloquially referred to as "The 405" or the four-oh-five) is a major north–south Interstate Highway in Southern California. It is a bypass of Interstate 5, running along the western and southern parts of the Greater Los Angeles Area from Irvine in the south to near San Fernando in the north. The entire route is known as the northern segment of the San Diego Freeway.
I-405 is a heavily-traveled thoroughfare by commuters and freight haulers along its entire length and is the busiest and most congested freeway in the United States. The freeway's annual average daily traffic between exits 21 and 22 in Seal Beach reached 374,000 in 2008, making it the highest count in the nation. It has played a crucial role in the development of dozens of cities and suburbs along its route through the Greater Los Angeles area.
This route is part of the California Freeway and Expressway System.

Yes, that’s me!……… This is a photo the photographer took last weekend as I was signing the marriage license for my niece and nephew…… never in my wildest dream did I ever see myself performing a marriage ceremony…….or signing a valid marriage license!…….But they wanted me to marry them, and how could I refuse?! …… it was an honor to be asked to do it…….. even my Grandson asked if would do his wedding if he ever found someone who he would fall in love with and want to marry. My answer….. “of course I would, Caleb!….. if I’m still around, I’ll do it…. just don’t rush into it….” I said to my one and only 22 year old Grandson……. I’m giving my twin Granddaughters 10-12 more years before I hear them ask the request……. They’ll be 13 in March………. ♂️
