The dog on this sign caught my attention. I was immediately reminded of the Egyptian god Anubis, so I thought it would be fun to play around a bit.

While the Milk Farm has been gone for many years, their sign still stands alongside interstate 80. Back in the early 60's, it was the only thing along this stretch of the interstate.
Thank you to everyone who came out to my opening night at Skypoint last night. It was great to get the opportunity to meet so many people that I met online and to get the opportunity to share my photos with more people. I am very thankful for the response I have gotten and hope to continue sharing my photos and making Tampa look beautiful.
Located in Depot Town, the historic section of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Several faded ghost signs are also visible on the side of this building.
i found an app that was able to translate this sign. turns out it's a radiohead song used as a hidden message from the fine folks at BART.

Our employees from BNY Mellon went on the tour to Neville Island to visit new Greenstar recycling plant, one of "green" trash plant to sort of paper, plastic, metal, and cloth to recycle in Pittsburgh.
The sign never die and they have lived through many years in old plant, it has grown the rust and fade the black.

One of many cute retail stores in Grapevine, Texas has many signs for sale. Sounds like a line from a Madonna song.
This heavy sign or better oversized RALEIGH head badge was made of wood and plaster. Unfortunately it was repainted in an inaccurate manner years ago. Although it received its place in our living room beside the old clock which is waiting for repair!
The story I hear on TV from the neighbors is, Isabel's father owed someone money. In the 911 call he made to report her missing he said, "I told her [his wife] to get her butt home [from work]" and he laughs.
Map link shows the pole where the Isabel sign was, the map is old, there's a library there now. (I was in the neighborhood getting new struts installed at the Kia dealer and went for a walk.) The Pueblo Hotel is at 12th St & 6th Ave, next to the Post Office. The twin Piccareta brothers (and other lawyers) have offices there, not sure if the swimming pool is still there. The sign was recently renovated, I met Carl Piccareta when he was a public defender . . . very good lawyer.

This was a commission I did for Christmas this year. They wanted the same color blue that the attorney sign was done in. This is going in the couples' house in Florida. Measures 18" X 18" The blue in the picture looks "speckled", but it's just the screen in the background.
i know im not the only one who thinks the new flickr layout is complete trash. Dr. Purp Thumb started the petition below: petitions.moveon.org/sign/change-flickr-back?source=s.fwd... Sing it, it only takes a few minutes and theres a chance the old layout will return.
Gainsborough Central sign on the gents toilets at the station back in 1969. The scaffolding is to keep the public from the area where the old Station Master's house had been recently demolished by the British Railways Board in order to avoid paying rates. This was an act of wanton vandalism, as the beautiful old station - built in 1849 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (later incorporated into the Great Central) - was one of the finest small stations in the whole of the British Isles. Worse was to follow in 1977 when the whole of the station, with the exception of the footbridge was flattened.
So many of these photos looked a lot clearer on my tiny camera previewing screen.

1243 Rudlin Street, Fernwood, Victoria BC. (1862)
New sign reveals the history of one of Fernwood's oldest houses..
"This house was originally located at the NW corner of Vancouver and Johnson Street and was built in 1862. It is a rare surviving example of a mid 19th century, carpenter built, working class Victoria residence. The lapped siding is of California redwood, several of the upper storey windows date to 1862 and the framework is an unusual hybrid of mortise and tenon and stick frame construction. The home was built by African American pioneers John (born 1802) and Charlotte (born 1795) Dandridge. The Dandridges, who originated from Virginia, immigrated to Vancouver Island along with other members of the black community of San Fransisco.
By the late 1850's although California was nominally a "free" state, black citizens were increasingly subjected to violent racial discrimination. In this uncertain climate, a group of nearly 800 black Californians accepted an invitation in 1858 from Governor James Douglas to resettle on Vancouver Island. The prospective immigrants were promised naturalized British citizenship and were hopeful that they would receive better treatment in a British colony. In fact, although many of the immigrants did find improved opportunities, the path toward British citizenship proved to be onerous and racial prejudice towards blacks was seldom below the surface.
In the early 1860's there were fears on Vancouver Island that the colony faced belligerent and expansionist threats from south of the border. Responding to concerns that the island was inadequately defended, 50 men from Victoria's African American community volunteered and received permission from Governor James Douglas to form a militia. In July of 1862, under the guidance of community leader and local entrepreneur Mifflin Gibbs, the Victoria Pioneer Rifle Corps (African Rifles) was officially established. Although John Dandridge at age 60 did not join, his son in law, grocer A.H.Francis became a captain in the Rifle Corps. The Corps drill hall and parade ground were located on the NW corner of View and Quadra streets and became something of a community centre for the black residents of Victoria. Mifflin Gibbs was later elected as a Victoria city alderman, served as acting mayor and was a delegate to the 1868 Yale Conference which was influential in moving British Columbia towards confederation with Canada.
Charlotte Dandridge died in 1868 and is buried in the Old Burial Ground at Pioneer Square. John Dandridge apparently left Victoria around 1870, probably returning to the US as did many of the African American pioneers of 1858 after the end of the Civil War and the abolition of slavery.
German barber Johannes (John) Becker and his wife Nicolene purchased the Dandridge residence in the early 1870's and lived in the home with their family for more than 15 years.
In 1899 the house was moved from Johnson Street to South Pandora Street (Rudlin Street) by sanitary pipe laying contractor Giuseppe (Joe) Zarrellii. Zarelli and his wife Carmella immigrated from Calabria, Italy in 1891 and raised 11 children in this house.
In the early years of the 20th century #9 South Pandora (1243 Rudlin Street) was at the centre of Victoria's little Italy. This was a community which was settled primarily by the large extended family of Giuseppe Zarrelli, his brothers, cousins and their families. Zarelli family members lived in this house until the 1950's.
For over 150 years 1243 Rudlin Street has been home to generations of Victorians, many of them immigrants from around the world. This house is one of a handful of surviving residences from the 1860's. In 2005 the house received Victoria Municipal Heritage Designation."

Sign which appears on cottages in Orcheston and elsewhere on Salisbury plain, Wiltshire. A number of houses on the plain were destroyed by flood in 1841 and many people were made homeless.
Just hanging out with the boys on a sunny morning...
Too bad about the unfortunate sign placement, and it's too big to clone out effectively.

This sign is at the corner of N Apache Trail and E Lost Dutchman Blvd, but there's no building here, just a big vacant lot.
