The sign is on the south side of the building. Another ghost sign adorns the north facade.
The building at 623 S. Wabash Ave. was constructed in 1895 and designed by Solon S. Beman or the Studebaker Brothers Carriage Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana as its Chicago regional office and warehouse facility. It was later owned by the Brunswick Company, makers of wood furnishings and built-in furniture for libraries, universities and a variety of public commercial and governmental facilities. The building was acquired by Columbia College in 1983 and now houses classrooms, academic offices, a computerized newsroom, sciences laboratories, art studios, stage and costume design workshops and two public gallery spaces.
This sign has been upside down for years. I pointed it out to them the first time I saw it, I guess they don't care enough to fix it. Why, then, do I give them my business?
Scranton Library sign in use from the expansion in 1989 to the renovation which began in 2018. Long rectangular brown sign made of wood with large routed-in letters reading, "Scranton Library". Letters are painted gold in the imprints, and they have faded outlines painted in blue around them. Square cutouts at each of the four corners. Imprinted tan border along the edges of the sign. Eight screws going through the sign in total, with four spaced out in a row near the top edge and and four similarly near the bottom edge. 11' long x 16" tall x 1 1/4" thick.

This is the first Chesterfield Cigarettes ghost sign that I ever come across. I can recall when Chesterfield was one of the most widely advertised and sold cigarettes brand. However, I have not noticed any advertising for Chesterfield in many years.
The sign is in good condition and appears to have been restored. It covers part of a Rex Flour ghost sign as evidenced by the visible “Rex is King” statement which is normally included in Rex Flour ghost signs.

Features on the sign include the straight Roman road called The Fosse Way, a Saxon, the Norman motte-and-bailey Brinklow Castle and a narrowboat on the nearby canal wharf.

The John Deere sign sold for $16,500, rare 1920's, 108" long.
International Harvester sign sold for $5,600 The IH sign was made with Smalt -which is made from course ground glass or sand. It did have a sandpaper like feel to it.

It has been a long time coming but on the 14th October 2017 at the East Lancashire Railway Autumn Steam Gala BR 4MT 2-6-4T No.80097 was dragged out of her shed onto Platform One at Bury Bolton Street Station. Up until now you would have to wander down to the end of Platform Two to get a glimpse of the smoke box or the cab. However, now that the Bury Standard 4 Group had got the boiler back they could start putting all the pieces back together. The light is at the end of the tunnel and it was time to show the public were the restoration project was up to.
The sign, the form, the name — all the attributes of the sign system create a hindrance ... Reality is not captured by these bodies!
Last night when we were putting Jessie to bed, she told us she thinks she lost her stuffed dog Luc Dog (named after our old dog Luc) at school. It's her favorite stuffed animal. She loves him like no other toy. She began crying at the thought that she might not see him again. So I made this sign and we're going to hang it at her school. I hope we find him. She will be crushed if we don't.
I made this a year or two ago on a funny sign generator website and unfortunately I can't find it to give it credit. My friends love this one so much they took copies of this to be made into real signs for their own use.
I love the entrance and sign for the Land pavilion in Epcot Center. It's one thing that I'm really glad hasn't really changed since it was put in. It also holds on of my favorite Future World attractions, Living With The Land.
