The Sign Post Forest at Watson Lake, Yukon has more than 100,000 place signs, distance signs, license plates and other signage left on posts by visitors from all over the world. It was started in 1942 by a homesick GI from Danville, IL, indicating 2,835 miles to his home town. Over the years it has grown so it it now is virtually a forest of signs. (Richard McGuire photo)

Nudity is formally permitted on the beach, in the water in front of the beach and on a significant part of the rocks just off the beach!
And then the reality of the situation is quite different again. The accepted nude area extends along the rocky coast in both directions, and up into the bush for quite a long distance on the seaward side.
Thank you to everyone who came out to my opening night at Skypoint last night. It was great to get the opportunity to meet so many people that I met online and to get the opportunity to share my photos with more people. I am very thankful for the response I have gotten and hope to continue sharing my photos and making Tampa look beautiful.
Yes, this is a genuine road sign, high in the Cheviot Hills and close to the England/Scotland border. It's there to control the off-roaders that use the The Street, an ancient drove road. (The 'road' is the zigzag grassy line to the right of the sign.) Dates shown refer to lambing time in these hills.
The only way a 'motorist' could come across this sign is to have driven up to the ridge from the English side (no road though!). I have marked the position on the map.
Sentinel-3B is well and truly signed and sealed … just the delivery into orbit part to go!

I reached over the fence to take this shot. I couldn't frame it, and I hadn't noticed this hidden word. This is how it turned out -- no cropping involved.
The sign, the form, the name — all the attributes of the sign system create a hindrance ... Reality is not captured by these bodies!

The United States Congress designated the Table Rock Wilderness in 1984 and it now has a total of 5,781 acres. All of this wilderness is located in Oregon and is managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
A remnant of a lava flow that once covered this region along the western foothills of the Cascades, the "fortress" of Table Rock stands at 4,881 feet above the northeastern portion of this small Wilderness. On this steep and rugged terrain you'll find a quiet forest of Douglas fir and western hemlock, with noble fir at higher elevations and crowds of rhododendron on many of the upper slopes, an island of old growth in an ocean of forest development. At least two endangered plants bloom here: Oregon sullivantia and Gorman's aster. Deer and elk wander about in winter, and the northern spotted owl has been spotted among the old trees.
From four trailheads, about 17 miles of trails give access to the Wilderness. A relatively easy hike from Table Rock Road will take you up the Table Rock Trail to the sweeping vista from the summit of Table Rock, where the land falls suddenly away in basalt cliffs on the north face. From this high point, Mount Rainier looms far to the north, Bull of the Woods Wilderness beckons from the east, and the Willamette Valley spreads out to the south.
You will not find any reliable sources of potable water on the trails, so pack along your own. Horses may find dangerous footing on some of the talus slopes.

This is the first Chesterfield Cigarettes ghost sign that I ever come across. I can recall when Chesterfield was one of the most widely advertised and sold cigarettes brand. However, I have not noticed any advertising for Chesterfield in many years.
The sign is in good condition and appears to have been restored. It covers part of a Rex Flour ghost sign as evidenced by the visible “Rex is King” statement which is normally included in Rex Flour ghost signs.

This one's up for debate. There is another door with a normal Man|Woman sign. This one must be for children. It may be telling us that boys should enter the boys' room, optionally accompanied by a man, and girls should go to the girls' room, optionally accompanied by a woman.
But the boy and the girl are in gray, whereas the man and the woman appear in black. That would mean that men should go to the men's room, optionally accompanied by their sons and women should go to the women's room, optionally accompanied by their daughters, right?
Or is this all about the vertically challenged? "Must be this tall to pee..."
It has been a long time coming but on the 14th October 2017 at the East Lancashire Railway Autumn Steam Gala BR 4MT 2-6-4T No.80097 was dragged out of her shed onto Platform One at Bury Bolton Street Station. Up until now you would have to wander down to the end of Platform Two to get a glimpse of the smoke box or the cab. However, now that the Bury Standard 4 Group had got the boiler back they could start putting all the pieces back together. The light is at the end of the tunnel and it was time to show the public were the restoration project was up to.
