Just hanging out with the boys on a sunny morning...

Too bad about the unfortunate sign placement, and it's too big to clone out effectively.

A woman holds a sign at the Amber Rose Slutwalk in Downtown Los Angeles, California, on Oct. 1, 2017. The Slutwalk, which celebrated women’s sexuality and feminism while condemning rape culture, started with a rally at Hill and First streets and ended with a festival in Pershing Square.

In 1964 a Western Rancher named Stuart Anderson had an idea that cut against the grain of the times.

If he could lay out great ranch-style steaks, he thought, at a price nobody had to worry about, in a place where anybody and everybody could lean back and enjoy themselves, then maybe they'd come back and try it again. That year, he opened the first Black Angus Steakhouse.

At the time, when a steakhouse meant a stuffy place where you spent a week's paycheck, the idea seemed a bit wobbly. But it took, and we've stuck to it. Since 1964 Black Angus has served a lot of great steak to a lot of hungry Guests in a comfortable setting that's easy to be at and hard to leave.

ALL OUR STEAKS ARE BLACK ANGUS BEEF, AGED A MINIMUM OF 21 DAYS FOR MAXIMUM TENDERNESS AND DEPTH OF FLAVOR. Before they're served, we carefully hand-cut them to get to the freshest, tastiest beef. We grill them over an open flame to sear in that under-the-stars, over-the-campfire flavor. Just before they come off the fire, we brush them with our own seasoned butter to give them the extra richness that separates our steaks from the other guys.

CENTER-CUT FILET MIGNON. This is an elegantly lean, naturally tender cut with subtle richness and fine-grain texture.

CENTER-CUT NEW YOUR STRIP. Hearty and robust, this cut has a lock on the balance of flavor, texture, and tenderness.

RIBEYE. If you Really love steak…. Ribeye is tender, juicy, and by most folks' accounts, the most flavorful of all steaks.

TOP SIRLOIN. This is one of those best of both world cuts. It's lean and firm, with a bold meaty flavor.

PRIME RIB. A Black Angus specialty. Seasoned and seared to seal in the juiciness and flavor. Then slow-roasted 'til it is melt-in-your-mouth tender.

We know man does not live by steak alone, so you can team your steak up with lobster tail or grilled prawns or fried shrimp. Or go with some terrific chicken or salmon or salads or sandwiches. Once you make the tough decision on the entrée, your work is still not done. You get to choose from a list of 16 craveable sidekicks, like a wedge salad, a loaded baked potato or green beans sautéed with bacon, to name just a few. Pick any two you want. There's almost too many choices. It's the Black Angus Way.

Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA.

"The sign is much like the moon. It seems close enough at times to reach out and touch, and many try to bike or drive up there, but it always seems to be out of reach. In fact, it was not designed to be reached, only seen. When it was constructed in 1923, it read HOLLYWOODLAND. It was advertisment for a then-opulent subdivision owned in part by move-making mogul Mack Sennet." quotation from the book "Short bike rides. Los Angeles." by Robert Winning.

HOLLYWOODLAND was transformed into HOLLYWOOD in 1949 and replaced in 1978.

Bill Signing Ceremony. by Jay Baker at Annapolis, Maryland

Taken in Flagstaff, Az on Hwy 66

Seen on the back of a fire engine. When I think of the risks I took when I was younger, with the consent of adults who were supervising me, I wonder how we all survived.

I had never been anywhere before where they give cars the right-of-way in the downtown, heavy pedestrian area. And the signs are not really at eye level.

In my opinion it makes for a pretty crappy city when pedestrians have to wait at crosswalks and dash across the street between cars.

In February 2009, while covering a surf rowing event at Trigg Beach, I photographed a rower from Secret Harbour SLSC who sported some interesting tattooed symbols on his back. Fast forward to July 2010, and this fella, by name of Pughey, rocks up to the studio to participate in the shoot for the "Gun's Up!" book project!

As it turns out, the symbols are the zodiac signs (horoscopes) of his family members (kids and wife). The Capricorn is his zodiac sign.

I've been reading Consumerist for a while now (when I get bored at work,

which is very often) and thought that i would contribute. I saw this sign at

a Chili's restaurant in Connecticut. Not sure if it deserves to be on

Consumerist but I attached it anyways.

Thanks,

Neil

There was an array of signs out in the Saturday afternoon sun, from basic ones telling Mubarak to "get out" to more complex signs surveying the history of the American and egyptian presidents since the '80s (5 for America, 1 for Egypt).
