Wood Duck Ducklings...
I have done a lot of ducklings and goslings this spring. More than usual. I always have an image in my mind and I try to get that shot I want. Some are several years in the making.... that keeps my interest in the ducklings. This is not one of them but I love those babies looking my way or a specific angle instead of sideway. In other words, I have lots of shots of these cuties, hope you don't mind.

I always prefered an angle view of a duck rather than sideway. But my favorite is sure the look back view whenever I have the opportunity.

I have photographed this grocery shop and the neighbourhood around it many times. Now the buildings on the block opposite the shop have been completely demolished, and the block on which it stands is the only remaining island that will be demolished sooner or later. In front of the grocery shop, three old men are talking about this matter.

Omdat de volgende trein van DB Cargo slecht beladen zou zijn werd weer een sideways alternatief stekje opgezocht. Bij passage van de webcam bleek de trein echter helemaal vol en werd last minute richting Horst gereden. Nog net op tijd kon een foto worden gemaakt van de 193 346 met fraaie KLV.
Een iets te enthousiaste jonge medefotograaf stak helaas zijn hand vol mijn lens... Met PS is het gras digitaal opnieuw ingezaaid...
De reden dat Haaften werd gekozen kwam doordat daar ook een sideways klik mogelijk was. Aangezien een losse loc toch altijd wat lastig vast te leggen is was deze extra mooi meegenomen. We zien de SHD 2205 hier nogmaals ter hoogte van Haaften.
Actually everything went wrong when taking this picture and as he was moving again, I couldn't try again. The mirror got stuck, who knows why, there were light leaks and what else ... But it came better out as I was hoping. I like it, especially since I usually don't have people on my photos.
We took a little sideway to see the UNESCO protected beech forests in Brandenburg, not too far from Berlin. And this tree had an idea of growing like no other there.

This photograph was taken in a triangular block in Jing’an District, Shanghai. The block and its surrounding area once contained a concentration of factories; after Shanghai’s deindustrialization, it briefly turned into a nightlife and entertainment zone, before most venues closed in the 2010s. The site was later designated by local authorities as a “creative park”, hosting design studios and similar businesses. Today, it attracts little public activity.
The wall shown here is largely covered with reproduced trademarks and product labels from early-20th-century Shanghai light industry, visually highlighting the commercial success of that period’s private manufacturers. Set across the center of the wall is an official advertisement for a government-organized exhibition reviewing the CCP-led workers’ movement in Shanghai during the 1920s and 1930s.
Such exhibitions are held intermittently, attract almost no visitors, and function mainly as a formal response to top-down requirements for showcasing “red culture”, with administrative reporting taking precedence over any real audience. At the same time, there appears to be a clear effort to avoid giving the historical workers’ movement any contemporary resonance. By surrounding the exhibition notice with visually dominant commercial trademarks that glorify capitalist achievements, the message of labor struggle is rendered marginal and easy to overlook, despite occupying the physical center of the wall.
