Das heutige East Side Hotel war vor der Wende eine Halbruine, aus der die DDR-Grenzschützer in den Westen spähten.
Wir haben das Gebäude in Schwarz-weiß umgewandelt, weil wir das so aus Mauertagen in Erinnerung haben: Vorne alles bunt, bemalt und besprüht, die Gebäude dahinter grau.

I was still sitting by "The tree" when this masked shrike turned up. I was very pleased as these had eluded me in Greece and Cyprus on previous holidays. Another life tick.

this is one completely unremarkable shot. but i can't help but love it. i also can't help but think of this Joni Mitchell song (and sing a little) whenever i look at the sky...

This is Jóhanna being silly.
This is what me and my roomate always like to joke about - both coming from the West side of Iceland, the only ones in our class. So, whenever someone says something that we disagree about (something that's different from what we say in our part of Iceland) we scream at them "WEST SIDE" and act supercool.
So, this is my serious attemp to look like some gangster.

127) Dark Sided Flycatcher
Dark Sided Flycatcher, Muscicapa sibirica, Sambar Siberia
This species has a wide distribution in Asia with northern birds migrating south for the winter. It is also known as the Siberian flycatcher, where its originate. Like other flycatchers, its feeding technique is to perch on an exposed branch and wait. When an insect flies past, the bird dashes out to snatch it. It inhabits coniferous and mixed forest and woodland and is sometimes seen in plantations, parks and gardens. It typically occurs in mountainous regions, reaching 4000 metres above sea-level in some areas.

I removed the overheads and stanchions in Photoshop as it was a sample piece for my final project on my Photography course. Thought I'd upload it anyway as I like how the bystanders are stood.
A La Ronde is an 18th-century 16-sided house located near Lympstone, Exmouth, Devon, England, and in the ownership of the National Trust. The house was built for two spinster cousins, Jane and Mary Parminter. It is a Grade I listed building as are the adjacent Point-In-View chapel, school and almshouses, Together with a manse which were also built by the cousins. The gardens are Grade II listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.
