Greater Peoria LISC partners with South Side Mission to sponsor their Hope Builders program, which renovates the homes of the poor and elderly in Peoria's South Side neighborhood. July was a terrible month for getting /any/ sort of productive work done, but it's over now and it's time to pin one of the bags together to see if anything looks out of place.

The side pockets look out of place because I pinned them onto the wrong sides. I'll fix that before I take needle and thread to baste the body together before sewing it together.

The highlight of my birding weekend; this off-season Chestnut-Sided Warbler playing in a bush right off the parking lot. A life-list first for me; an absolute joy!

I might have gotten a better shot, but my CF card filled up after the first few snaps of this guy; by the time I was able to clear off some space, he was gone. This only happened because SOMEONE convinced me to start shooting in RAW - you know who you are!

The owl moved from the entrance table to a home in the forest this year. Also, brand new powerpoints featuring images from the ecosystems and the animals that inhabit them.

Particularly like the snow flurries catching the light from the rays of sun.

Here is the 4 tier wedding cake that caused so much stress and anxiety yesterday. At least for us. Hopefully not for the wedding party. Yes, the chocolate is supposed to be all drippy. The wedding topper and the cake stand were provided by the bride.
