the 7yrold is always encouraging me to buy more gear. I'm always like "honey, I really have enough photography equipment." but then she's like "you have to have the newest stuff or why bother." so what am i supposed to do, i don't want to be a shabby parent.
the plus one shot is the 7yrold in about the same spot a while ago.

This young lady is Caroline Madsen, the 11-year-old daughter of my friends Barney and Cindy Madsen. (Barney, a member of Flickr, is known on this site as bmadsen.) She is gifted with an extraordinary soprano voice, and when she is a famous Met star in a few years, I will be able to say I knew her when. Now I am introducing her to you folks as well, and I only regret that I am unable to provide her voice with this image.
I took Caroline and my son Colin on a sunset-hunting expedition, and caught this silhouette of her focusing on a deer in a small canyon just below where we were standing. Caroline's mother is trying to teach her photography, and I enthusiastically offered her my services for this impromptu lesson, for which Cindy and Caroline were both grateful.
This picture was taken in Provo, Utah.
Cape May, NJ. This is a place known for Bed & Breakfasts, good shopping, fine dining and of course the ocean, beaches and boardwalks.

233/365 - August 21, 2010. Icy isn't too happy giving up the hazy, lazy days of summer, but he knows school can be exciting and fun too.
Now this little bugger has some issues, mainly a wing chipped off, but I could not leave him behind. If you look closely, he has a camera on his shoulder, so this in fact makes him a shutter-bug ! He was so silly I wanted him, and the lady told me I could have him for free :)
