I know this doesn't look special, but I wanted to see if a fast shutter speed can freeze the blades of an electric fan.
This set of blurred, out of focus images are inspired by the artist Rob Nypels and integrate with the 'Memory & Forgetting' project. Its a simple idea, but the images have all be taken around my house and throughout my garden - in which i have grown up with. The blur effect displays how distant the memories of these areas are, forcing the viewer to question what their looking at.
The image was shot through a window looking out onto my garden through blinds and I like how these blinds separate the colour schemes.
I don't know why, but I just love this picture. There's something about the combo of a few semi-sharp birds mixed in with the blurred mayhem caused by the movement of panning and rapid wing flaps that I really dig. In case you can't tell, it's a large flock of Black-bellied Plover settling in for the night just after sunset.
