this and the next 14 pics are from my trip to pick up my paycheck last friday, a 6 hour 46 mile journey from Arroyo Grande to Los Osos and back.

we were surprised to find that this beach on Green Bay was completely covered with shells. It reminded us of Florida!

Positioned here on the rocks in Shell Beach, Sol came through the clouds like the first sunset on the first day of the earth, showing her power true with some super intense light.
I took a little road trip to Shell Beach which is appx 25 miles
south east of New Orleans proper. A hard hit fishing community.
There is a Hurricane Katrina memorial at the end of Yscloskey Hwy....
both on shore and in the water. It's also an area where fishermen take
their boats out to the giant Lake Borgne, it is along the Mississippi River
-Gulf Outlet (MRGO) which is an inlet the leads to the Gulf Of Mexico.
AUG 2010 ~ Restless Gulls - Salmon Creek Beach
(Looking north) The gulls seemed oddly restless and gathering in huge flocks yesterday. We couldn't figure out what would set them off flying in huge swirls over the beach (besides folks who couldn't resist urging them into flying).
From my new Canon EOS 5D, using a borrowed Canon 1.4x tele-extender on my 70-200 f2.8L lens. Shot in raw, converted to jpeg and reduced for display.
