The weather has been unfairly awesome. Crazy creepy awesome. Knock on wood so we don't get an earthquake or fires awesome.

A few of us gathered for mid-winter birthday celebrations for 7s and Shane. Delicious food, good friends, and the beach. Life is good.

Late afternoon light is so pretty. And the skies were full of gorgeous clouds.

This time we are in the hunt for the caves on Valdes.

A bunch of photos from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Emily, Shell Beach, with summer hills of Marin in the distance. We spent every day right in this spot, unless it was foggy.

I grossly miscalculated both timing of our arrival and choice of lens. We were aiming for Pismo Beach, but the city was actually *full*. We ended up parking in the neighboring city a little north of Pismo and hiked to a spot that had a view of Pismo Pier. My 24-70mm didn't get me close enough (these are cropped). Ah well.

The fisherman remained fairly still even during my long exposure.

This evening it was a balmy and clear 75F outside at 5pm so I decided to venture out and see what I could see in the way of a sunset. I found this one up in Shell Beach, CA. It was a wonderful evening to be outdoors!

Western Australia, Jan 08

The most amazing beach I have ever seen - a total vertigo inducing head trip. The colors where amazing, and even when standing in the water itself, it was hard to figure out exactly where the sea began and ended and where the horizon was. Hard to photograph well because it was so light, but hopefully the idea gets across...
