Despite the name "shell beach", rocks are the beach's standout feature. This one brings to mind a sculptor's handiwork.
Taken 1-16-2009 at the opening of the "Ebb & Flow" exhibit at the Huntington Beach Art Center. The exhibit celebrates the City's centennial with historical artifacts, photos, documents, etc.

A Stiff Breeze at Bayou Yscloskey makes for birds soaring - perhaps a laughing gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) in non-breeding plumage soars on the air currents.
