Not really. But the fast moving marine layer about 45 minutes after sunset over the Shell Beach mansions sure did make for an incredible sky. The sky was boring and the sunset was nothing to write home about, but I took the corner from Avila towards my house in Pismo Beach last night and looked for the first possible coastal access. I sprinted with my tripod to the edge of this cliff and just hoped I'd luck out in getting the exposure right. I definitely have some neat new places to shoot and a new route to work after coming across this location.

Stupid dates! Don't get me wrong, I love printing the dates--they've become so popular. I just think someone so tech-savvy as to buy a camera with the date printing option (as I am!) should be able to set them correctly.
I liked this shot so I just had to rework it. The first one was just a tad too dark. Please tell me what you think ..? Too much saturation?
we took a trip to my brother's house in shell beach (i guess technically it's pismo beach). it was beautiful and incredibly warm there. ahhh.
i chose this one because toby is smiling for the camera, too. dorks.

Yup, this pic is a few years old taken back in the summer of 2010. Every now and then the thick fog will lift and with just the right ingredients you can get spectacular color! I decided to re-process the image like new, using some techniques in masking and layers ive been learning. Hope you like it. About the processing, there actually wasn't much involved. Just double processed the RAW file for the shadows in the rocks that were a bit dark in the original file.

Taken 1-16-2009 at the opening of the "Ebb & Flow" exhibit at the Huntington Beach Art Center. The exhibit celebrates the City's centennial with historical artifacts, photos, documents, etc.

How bout a seascape? This long exposure was taken back in March down below the Palisades park in Shell Beach, just a few yards from the stairs. The sunset had next to no color at all on this night but with an exposure of 50 seconds the subtle blues above the fog are brought out and the motion of the tides are slowed down, making a nice contrast with the rugged foreground.

This was among the last photos I captured on Skye before heading back to Edinburgh for my flight home.
The bluff where the woman is standing is known as Cnoc Mòr a’ Ghrobain in Gaelic. It offers a wonderful view of the beaches and Loch Dunvegan. She seemed to be taking in the scene, as if she were committing it to memory in lieu of a photograph. It seemed fitting for one of my last pictures here.
Changeable weather can be a pain! I choose to go out early afternoon, there was a nice light coming from a hazy sun and no significant areas of heavy cloud. Go to John O'Groats, and if anything better sunshine. By the time I had reached the beach, a Bloody great Black Cloud had appeared and sat over the sun, the occasional shaft of sun light would appear, but this always seemed to be at the wrong moment! We are also back to the tropical temperatures of 14 to 15 °C, certainly not complaining about that.
Shell Beach, Ness of Duncansby, Caithness, Scotland.
Shells and fragments of them make up this beach on Shell Key across the channel from Pass-A-Grille, Florida. Shell Key is a beautiful, natural, hotel and road free, barrier Island that is protected as a County Nature preserve.
Shell beach, Isle of Purbeck, Dorset: This is number 8 on the top ten beaches in the world. It isn't known to be the most beautiful but it is relaxing with it's vintage attributes. There is great restaurants, and many activities for the guests to do. Although it isn't far away from the mainland, it still has a very relaxing getaway vacation feel to it.
