Here's where the "pucker factor" kicks in for guys who don't do this very often. You have to lock your knees and bend into an "L-shape" position, hanging your ass out over a 42-foot dropoff.
All the stump type shapers I've seen are right handed friendly, putting my lefty self at a slight disadvantage.
Dave made me a very nice brass shaper, with a nice sharp edge and a great hexagonal handle too for grip.
