Design created using custom shapes from graphicxtras.com (c) 2010 Andrew Buckle

A copy of “AXL II2” by László Moholy-Nagy made with Adobe Photoshop as part of my Replication assignment for my CS4231 Module.

The Painting can easily be broken into separate layered shapes, which made replicating it's structure and layout within Photoshop very simple. I used the shape tools to create new shape objects and the free transform tools to manipulate the objects into the sizes I wanted, then used the colour-picker tool to get all of my shapes as close to the original colours as possible. I still wanted to replicate that canvas texture in the original, so I found an image of some parchment paper and overlayed it on top of all the shapes with low opacity and some noise to help give it a rougher finish.

The Penelope shape includes two full perm shapes, complete style note card, basic shape AO, one pose stand, and three eyebrow bases. Come check her out out in-world @ slurl.com/secondlife/Pengo Capricorn/227/87/1652

My Photo works for this assignment because the shape in the windows, bricks, and my brothers silhouette. I chose to take this photo because throughout the trimester photos like these were very inspiring. To take this photo I positioned my brother under the windows and positioned my self at the correct angle. The principles I used are contrast, rhythm, balance, and movement. The rhythm of the bricks help create movement that leads your eye across the photo. I used contrast in the very light side of the photo, and the dark side of it which helps emphasize each object. I also used balance in the positioning of my brother with the rest of the elements. To make this photo better I could have my brother move a little so there is more space between his head and the window. My biggest strength is the sharpness of the bricks and the contrast on the windows.

As long as your eye can see...in far distance lie the plains of Kathgodam and beyond, fed by River Gaula as it snakes and breaks through the landscape.

(As the perspective goes) Gethia > Ranibagh > Kathgodam > Haldwani > Pantnagar > (and beyond)

To the right one can also see Gethia Sanatorium, the oldest landmark of this village. And the green grassy patch in the foreground is "Madhumati Bend", where a few scenes from Bimal Roy's 1958 film Madhumati were shot, involving the leads Dilip Kumar, and Vyjayantimala.
