Central Park was purchased rather expensively from the Hudson’s Bay reserves and Central Park began to take shape in 1893. The urban parks movement proved popular at the time and Central Park became a popular and very busy place.
Central Park is a large urban park located in Downtown Winnipeg, and forms the heart of the neighbourhood of the same name. The area is bound by Notre Dame Ave. to the north, Ellice Ave. to the south, Donald St. to the east and Balmoral St. to the west. Everything within the neighbourhood's one-kilometre loop can be reached within eight minutes on foot. The neighbourhood is home to the largest concentration of Black Canadians in Manitoba, mostly African immigrants and refugees. 70 per cent of all refugees coming to Winnipeg live downtown, largely settling in and around the Central Park area.
The Waddell Fountain commemorates Emily Margaret Waddell, who died in 1908. It is a rare example of the High Victorian style in Manitoba, and is based on the 1844 Gothic Revival monument in Edinburgh for Romantic poet Sir Walter Scott. In her will, Emily Waddell stipulated that if her husband Thomas remarried, he must donate $10,000 to the city to construct a fountain. Thomas Waddell, who did remarry, raised the money in 1914.

(front of postcard) #105,157 J.V. / C (Valentine postcard)
(back of postcard) - Published by E.P. Charlton & Co., Ltd., Winnipeg, Man. / Printed in Great Britain
The earliest Canadian postcards published by Valentine & Sons were uncoloured collotypes of scenery along the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway north of Lake Superior and in the Rocky Mountains. Typically, Valentine postcards have a 6-digit serial number (###,###) on the view side with the initials “J.V.” in a circle adjacent to that number. The main series of numbering begins with a Halifax card as no. 100,000 and ends (as far as we know) with a postcard of Toronto as no. 115,981. There are also two short runs of numbers in the 400,000 range that are found on some cards from the Yukon Territory and a longer run of views from various parts of Canada that begins at 600,000 and continues past 602,000.
104,000 – 1909 (July)+
105,000 – 1910 (January)
106,000 – 1911 (January)+
107,000 – 1911 (December)
108,000 – 1912 (August)+*

Lee Shape for Maitreya Body & Catwa Catya
marketplace.secondlife.com/p/De-Sol-Shapes-Lee-Shape-for-...
Pale brown mannequin head in a store window, with a futuristic inset v shape somewhat alien like instead of the usual facial features. The light is coming from the left side, making the right one shaded. Also on the left side there is another dummy head with dark brown hair.
I was inspired by one of my children's drawing books. I drew this first in pencil then traced over with black gel pen. I used Prisma pencils and Gamsol for the coloring. The birds are HA 4749-4752 Decorative Bird set. Added stitching, grommets, string, and straw. Popped out the birds, tongue of shoe, porch roof, and chimney top.

One of the male had a jagged crown so to speak... likely same bird as per photo doc.d at Bazan Bay other year(s)
The other typical smooth crown
Oddly enough ,Hybrid had a modified Jagged crown...makes one wonder ... but sources say Head pattern takes after Male of the hybrid...so Hybrid should have a AMWI father in that case...
Dunno what to think here really
But with so many EUWI in our area there is quite likely quite a few generational back crosses around to potentially "muddy the water" of what a "baseline " AMWI is for our area.
So in emergent wigeon one sees the "Jagged or notchedy ' type crown shape but not so much with adult birds.
Part of the go forward for me is to see if i can document such head shapes in adult males whether AMWI or EUWI.
Most flocks one can see a tendency towards this but i don't recall seeing it this pronounced and obvious in an adult bird before or since this (presumed) individual

Iguana is a genus of omnivorous lizards native to tropical areas of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The word "iguana" is derived from the original Taino name for the species, iwana. Iguanas can range from 5 to 6 feet (1.5 to 1.8 m) including their tail. The two species of lizard within the genus Iguana possess a dewlap, a row of spines running down their backs to their tails, and a tiny "third eye" on their heads. This light-sensing organ is known as the parietal eye, visible as a pale scale on the top of the head, and cannot make out details, just brightness. Behind their necks are small scales which resemble spokes, known as tuberculate scales. These scales may be a variety of colors and are not always visible from close distances. They have a large round scale on their cheeks known as a subtympanic shield.
Iguanas have keen vision and can see shapes, shadows, colors, and movement at long distances. Their visual acuity enables them to navigate through crowded forests and to locate food. They employ visual signals to communicate with other members of the same species.
