a fleeting moment on the streets of valencia. the glow of
afternoon light carves her out from the shadows, her blue bag and red flower almost defiant against the black. a portrait of individuality moving through the mundane, vivid and unapologetic.
It showed up quietly, clinging to the wall like it had always been there. The warm brown patterns on its wings melted into the shadows, almost invisible unless you really looked. Nothing dramatic, nothing loud — just a small reminder that even the night has its gentle visitors.
Ombres et lumières,
Le blanc danse sous le ciel,
Bleu profond s'éveille.
Shadows meet the light,
White dances beneath the sky,
Deep blue stirs awake.

Walking the Medieval streets of Alcala de Henares, found this interesting gate, and behold a beautiful court yard.
A little play on light and shadows. Also, a preview of a new style next year. Although it’ll be a while before I get all the rest of my stuff edited for 2022.

The Deborah A is one of three of the Anderson Ferry fleet located at Constance, Kentucky. The Anderson began operating a horse powered ferry at this location in 1817. The ferry crosses from 7:00 AM until 9:30 PM on Saturday. We parked and crossed on the ferry, over and back, for $2 each.
Several days ago, I visited with a friend of mine and he mentioned that he and his wife took my advice and finally headed to the Sol Duc forest to see the abundant greens that are a huge part of this area. To my sadness, they did not see rich greens, but rather dull and stressed moss beds devoid of water. The summer drought on the Olympic Peninsula was serious stuff.
I felt bad enough, that I made a large print up similar to the effort above, yet horizontal, and gave it to them!
I will head here again in the late fall, hopefully to find a rush of moving water and a rebound of the lush green forest!
