The first Shadow I have ever photographed!

SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUSâ„¢_20180923173415

Shadow and interesting patterns.

Sunlight and a wind chime with a star created this shadow on my old sideboard.

I love this root wood - can you find the small heart there?

Have a great day!

Just visiting. Aren't we all?

He's possibly an Australian Shepherd, an American breed.

Love his white fur necklace; chances are I will never see him again.

Update:

Shadow is no longer of this earth. My neighbors were taking care of him briefly when I shot this.

Shadows on a corrugated tin wall (with slight PS treatment)

This is the shadow from Steph's kitchen door reflecting onto the floor. It's the one spot in the kitchen that's worn like this. When you look closely you can see the original hardwood floor and then three subsequent new floors, each one built on top of the old.

Benni and I discovered that we're much thinner in our shadows at 7:00 a.m. And much cooler on a hot day!

More shadows and their people on Wacker and Adams.

Back on public display after completion of its brief candidature in a photo contest in which, after due reflection, the judges chose to merge this one permanently with the shadows in round two.

Taken for the 'Shadows' photo challenge.

On the way to class, I found the shadow was interesting so stopped and took out my camera.

Change of batteries in the flash to the side boosted the shadow - Linzi giving a helping hand on this one!

Shadow puppetry is an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment using opaque, often articulated figures in front of an illuminated backdrop to create the illusion of moving images.

My sons [the eldest is standing back a bit, but he's a touch shorter than his younger brother] on the ramp on the Handbridge side of the suspension bridge, Chester.

Very near my house and with the sun low in the sky the shadows cast in the gaps seemed somewhat ominous.

Not BLACK like the UNACCURATE lego version.

Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule.

save the riverdale farm and sign the petition here, then email your city councillor and the nasty fraud of a mayor (Mayor_Ford@toronto.ca) to tell them you won't tolerate the dismantling of services and attractions necessary for a thriving city.

further, the local libraries are also under attack by this filth. join team atwood and help preserve literacy in toronto while pointing out to rob ford and his sycophantic shitheads at city hall that libraries are important and deserve funding. online petition here, which i signed and added this comment to:

Rob Fraud and the rest of these moronic reactionary fools are prime examples of the reason why we should be investing in more and broader forms of education and not closing libraries. A learned population would not vote for these hateful imbeciles in the first place.

Traces from the paper in a strange shadows play shot... In Lucca some times ago...

Shadows make an interesting subject. When the powerful headlights from a car parked on the road made shadows on the pavement, an experienced photographer used his camera to click pictures. I was inspired by his actions and tried to imitate him. Here is the end result.
