The A. J. Meerwald is a Delaware Bay oyster schooner, a distinct vessel that evolved to meet the needs of the local oyster fishery. Launched in 1928, the A. J. Meerwald was one of hundreds of schooners built along South Jersey's Delaware Bayshore before the decline of the shipbuilding industry that coincided with the Great Depression.
It's been a bit of a busy week (to say the least!) and for the first time in 3 years.. I didn't manage to get my shot up in time for the weekly competition.
However.. I had taken this shot Saturday morning on a brief drive by of the harbour in Bray. I was aiming for the shadows of the boards on the jetty but managed to pick up a few people shadows too. What I particularly loved about this particular shot was the seagull following the family as if he belonged.. I thought it was kind of cute.
Though I'm soooo peeved at myself for missing the deadline and competition this week.. I'm insisting on holding my head high and saying.. I'm gonna do all weeks.. no matter what!
It was kind of hard to make this picture. I was cycling pretty hard and made the picture of the shadow with the sun on my back. The reared thing is that you don't see the camera in the shadow.
