Shadow of our tour bus as we passed alongside an uneven cliff wall beside the road. The top "antenna" is the rear-view mirror, and the lower one is actually the corner-post between the windshield and door.
Uncropped, and unexpected.
From my Norway collection.
Took a stroll through Ellison Park today. Loved these berries but they were too dark. I wanted to save the composition so played with textures.

My glasses, sitting on a writing pad beside my keyboard, illuminated by a little halogen lamp. Easy to tell I wear bifocals.
I asked my 6th grade dance class to play around in the spot-lights, so I could take picture for DPS's "shadow" assignment. I tried to clone the marks off of the floor. I'm not sure how else I could fix the floor...

24th in my Iceland series. Walked up a volcano to see an ice lake in its crater and it was a gloriously sunny day casting interesting shadows on the snow.
My Shadow
by Robert Louis Stevenson
I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow--
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,
And he sometimes goes so little that there's none of him at all.
He hasn't got a notion of how children ought to play,
And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way.
He stays so close behind me, he's a coward you can see;
I'd think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me!
One morning, very early, before the Sun was up,
I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup;
But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head,
Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed.
Quote by Carl Jung
It is a frightening thought that man also has a shadow side to him, consisting not just of little weaknesses- and foibles, but of a positively demonic dynamism. The individual seldom knows anything of this; to him, as an individual, it is incredible that he should ever in any circumstances go beyond himself. But let these harmless creatures form a mass, and there emerges a raging monster; and each individual is only one tiny cell in the monster's body, so that for better or worse he must accompany it on its bloody rampages and even assist it to the utmost. Having a dark suspicion of these grim possibilities, man turns a blind eye to the shadow-side of human nature. Blindly he strives against the salutary dogma of original sin, which is yet so prodigiously true. Yes, he even hesitates to admit the conflict of which he is so painfully aware.

This shadow puppet represents Reusi, the Hermit, who appears in all shadow puppet performances in Thailand. He is considered to have religious and magical powers and seen as the protector of the puppeteers.
The shadow puppet is made of parchment decorated with yellow, red, and green ink & pierced with decorative holes. The skin is black and the feet are bare. One free hand holds a crooked staff with a bird's head handle. The other hand holds a leaf-shaped fan.
Outside the royal court, shadow puppets from the Nang Talung tradition are used to tell the Ramakien story, which is taught at school to Thai children. Many British school children learn the Indian story Ramayana (or ‘Rama and Sita’), which is what the story of Ramakien is based on.

Day 26 Year 2: This is me, with a laundry bag on my head lol...hopefully it doesn't look like just me, with a laundry bag on my head :)
I liked the shadows in the bathroom and took this photo. I then added the face of a girl, morphed with the face of a cat, for effect. Three photo composition, all photos taken by me.
This photo may have been taken in the mid 1980's near my house in Chester, PA I remember seeing the shadows and hurrying to take the photo before they stretched any further.
When I saw his profile through the viewfinder I snapped and knew that it'd be my picture for today. That's AJ. He saw me walking toward a bridge I wanted to snap, and wanted to come along. We were at a birthday party at the park for my friend's daughter, turning 7. :)
Pet Bolly was a nickname AJ had when he was teeny newborn b/c one day in our zombiefied state from lack of sleep, we confused "pot belly" piggy for "pet bolly" piggy when we were joking at how much milk he'd drink.
He's one of my hearts.
