I enjoyed a wonderful walk yesterday with Toronto Photo Walks in Hamilton (the Hammer). I joined the group after an absence of five months due to my shoulder surgery. Today I'm laying really low and babying the shoulder, lol. It was wonderful seeing everyone, a great turnout of a couple dozen of us. The weather for January the 12th was an incredible 13 C or 56 F!!!
This is an image of the twin blooms that the two macros (below) were shot from. I'm posting it in hopes that someone can help identify it...

FLOWER IDENTIFIED
FYI! I received the message below this morning from this kind gentleman who has identified the flower as Godetia. Needless to say I sent him a message of thanks....
Steve,
What an astonishing number of posts about your flower pic! Most with no hint of identification. Great photo. It is Godetia (or Clarkia) amoena. Comes in various colors (no true blue or yellow), and always recognizable by its parts in 4s, including the stigma's cross-shape which you captured so well. Also, the inferior ovary (looks like a little pickle, always 4-angled, behind the flower proper).

I have taken this fantastic light effect in Romsey Abbey when sunlight filtered into the church through the window.
Loved the railings here and, as they didn't feature in the last shot i posted from the Clifton Rocks Railway I had to post another. This time the shadow is mine, but no, there is no lion hat.
The contrasting diagonals was what appealed to me about this shot
Some thick encyclopedias stacked together on top of each other against a very intense red background. The books have different sizes and most of them have black hardcovers. They are casting a soft shadow behind them.

"In The Shadow, In The Light
I promise you, for all my life
I’ll be Always by your side
In the shadow, in the light.
I’ll follow you, wherever life goes
But I’ll always be aside
In the shadow, in the light.
But if we don’t understand…
Hell is happy, heaven is sad
And that’s the result of our brain…
Insane…
Caravan of life
By day and by night
Every tile’s a part of life
If it’s a shadow or light.
I promise you, even when the tide is high
I’ll be always by your side
In the shadow, in the light"
