Chapter 1 - Episode 1
Location: Urban Sector - Slums, World of Ruin
As Shadow remains silent behind the crumbling wall, a fierce Ogre prepares to make camp in the broken alleyway, not exactly the most ideal situation to be in at sundown. Shadow clutches his long rifle, trigger finger at the ready, the slightest misstep could alert the Ogre to his position. Ogre are brutish creatures known for their ferocity in battle and hatred for Wanderers. Shadow has been in worse situations before, he has more than once learned the value of patience. All that can be done now is to wait until the cover of darkness.

To be continued....
I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in.
I wanna feel the changes coming down.
I wanna know what I've been hiding in
My shadow.

The nearby marble mosque was modeled after that in the Red Fort of Delhi. There is also a royal necropolis of the Abbasi family, which still owns the stronghold. The area is rich in archaeological artifacts associated with Ganweriwala, a vast but as-yet-unexcavated city of the Indus Valley Civilization.

It's been a long time since WALL-E saw his shadow, because the sun has not been seen for more than a few hours since October 2010!

I love when the sunlight shining through the window creates a new window on my wall :)
And there's also something exciting about it, because it only happens during a limited time - so you have to be there and use the opportunity.
One of two twin whitetail deer fawns. The other twin was gone in a flash when I showed up. They were with two nice big bucks, and no mom around anywhere. Very unusual.
The black dot in the iris is a result of a pen fight in the school library 10 years back... I had quite forgotten about it... till this macro... as seen through my macro attachment.
Knowing within the darker reaches of our souls lies that other self, that shadow self...can we bring it to the light in a way that shows its meaningful face...
Mark ‘Spoonman’ Petrakis and I are developing a shadow puppet show we call ‘Ubu’s Dreams’.
This short series of sketches stars Père Ubu, the hero of french poet Alfred Jarry’s surreal plays. In this show, Ubu is constantly dreaming, playing with archetypal characters from our collective unconscious.
For this project, we are creating a variety of wooden figures with a laser cutter: big faces, music notes, dancers, trees and graveyards, to name but a few. We then tape our puppets on wooden sticks, and wave them across the stage to bring them to life, with a projector over our heads.
We plan to continue this experiment through the summer and perform a first puppet show during our Dada exhibit at the Canessa Gallery in North Beach, from Nov. 3 to 12, 2016.
I also plan to use some of these techniques with our lower and middle school students, for the Maker Art courses I will be teaching this fall.
From shadow puppets to poetic robots, these interactive storytelling experiments have the potential to engage us at a deeper level and help us learn more about ourselves.
