It was early morning, and the king of the jungle was surveying his domain from the camouflage of the shadows.... but he stepped into the light for a moment, and I managed to get a couple shots before he slipped back into the darkness.

the CN Tower looms large over Toronto

I posted a shot of this one a few years ago, questioning whether it qualified as an arch if the rock span wasn't at all archy. That day, even with the rock span being as straight as Anita Bryant, the shadow formed a fine arch.

Summer 2018 3rd leg: We'd planned a few weeks in southern Colorado, then wised up and went to Utah instead.

June 17: Starting at Chimney Rock, we hiked down Lower Spring Canyon. A repeat for us, but it was totally worth doing again and we made it even further than we had last time.

HFF from Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People. The bridges stainless steel fence railings are a work of art. Open views, and they cast interesting shadows. Victor is caught on the Bridge Stride without his tripod. Rare indeed…!

A little bit of sun coming through, giving some nice shadows.

I'd bury my dreams underground

As did I, we drink to die, we drink tonight"

The song is Elephant Gun by Beirut. I don't know if anyone has heard of them, but this video is definitely worth a watch.

Music is the number one inspiration in my life. And music video combines my two passions into one glorious concept. Therefore a majority of my days are taken up browsing independent music videos on youtube. It's great.

If you guys have any music video suggestions, please comment!

Bunting shadows on a shop wall, Salt Spring Island, on a bright sunny day.

Such a fiery sunset, yet such dark shadows! An oldie from 2011.

An experiment with shapes and shadows. No photoshop used; just lots of weird angles.

Fun technique; I recommend it.

Shadow from the iron deck railings falling onto the black woven BBQ tarpaulin in heavy dew, facing into the sun.

As the violin plays....the shadows grow longer, bringing with them darkness......and the stars.

After arriving at Arcadia in perfect late winter afternoon light, 11Z with the NS 8103 ended up stopping for 2 hours because of MOW. Screw the shadows!
