Lately, I've been doing a lot of big projects, all of which required large BL orders. In fact, I was becoming worried that I was becoming too dependent on BL, so in order to prove that I can survive without it, I whipped up this little shade to add to my covenant ranks.

Light and shade

A submission to Flickr Friday on the topic "Shade". Part of the South Curl Curl Surf Club in Sydney. It has rained all week so this is the first opportunity to photograph shade.

Fort Ord Dunes

California

At the park yesterday I was standing looking at parrots in the trees and looked down and saw that Benni was using me for shade!

Another from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre - took this quite early in the morning, but was still amazingly hot - was nice to get in the shade for a bit..

Why do I feel like my energy is being shaded?

The silence of the crib, the silence of Nazareth, the silence of the Cross, and the silence of the sealed tomb are one. The silences of Jesus are silences of poverty, humility, self-sacrifice, and abasement; it is the bottomless abyss of his kenosis, his self-emptying (Phil 2:7).

Our lives follow the inalterable linearity of time, however it is up to us which path we choose and which doors we open.

Photograph taken this week near "Palacio de la Almudaina", in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands).

Afternoon walk thru the park.

On an impulsive day trip of mine I came across this tree. Sheltering beneath it was a lovely cow (the first that hadn't run away upon my arrival all day!). I thought it warranted a picture for being so friendly. Here is the result.

Dripping Springs Natural Area

New Mexico

My wife and I recently spent a week in Texas and New Mexico. We hiked in the Dripping Springs area near Las Cruces NM. If you would like to read more about our hike and see more photos, check out my post Dripping Springs: Discovering Stories of the Past on my blog Batteredsuitcase.net

Yorba Regional Park, Anaheim, California

This park is right down the street from where I live. I usually visit a couple time a year and need to visit more often. There are many parks and preserves in Orange County to visit. I'm making a list of those I haven't been to yet.
