In the 4-H Table Setting Contest at the 2013 Lancaster County Super Fair, youth selected a theme and displayed one place setting, including table covering, dishes, glassware, silverware, centerpiece and menu. Youth chose one of the following categories: formal, casual, picnic or birthday.

Een SETUP-event in samenwerking met het Gemeentemuseum Den Haag waarbij mensen uitgenodigd werden een eigen interpretatie te maken van Mondriaans 'Victory Boogie Woogie' met behulp van code. De drie best beoordeelde creaties waren in het Gemeentemuseum fysiek te bewonderen tijdens de bekendmaking van de uiteindelijke winnaar.
Voorafgaand aan de Privacyrede kon een kleine groep mensen genieten van het DataDiner bij Fotodok. Tijdens dit diner lieten zij zich verrassen door een culinaire blik op het thema data & gedrag.

After my very popular tutorial from last week on how I do my Self Sportraits I found out about a National Photography competition in which you submit a photo essay of similar themed shots. I have decided to enter my Self Sportraits and see how I go. I mainly want to get them out there as so far I haven't seen anything similar on the net.

I have added the shadow in post processing. I used a chair to help with balancing for the shot. Not an easy task.

Two Vivitar 285hvs behind subject one meter, and to either side one meter, aiming directly at his head, at full zoom. Both are through 3/4 Windows Blue gels, at 1/4 power ( for fast recycle times and allowing me to use a smaller aperture so that the background blurs). White 60" reflector hand held in the front to bounce some fill onto his face. Triggered via skyports.

SB28: in a softbox camera frot left triggered with skyports. No other lights. The light was carefully positionsed to avoid reflections in the picture frames.. Probably should have moved it in closer to get more fall-off.

A quick note to Chris Newham, when doing this type of shot make sure that your tripod legs are expanded as far as possible so the camera doesnt end up at the bottom of the river.
