Portable setup for audio field recording with A/B stereo and XY stereo. The flash arms allow easy adjustment of the distance and position of the omni mics (LOM mikroUši Pro). The XY microphones can be used for a slightly more directed recording or omitted to save weight. Positioning the two omnis very close together and close to the sound source gives a "sonic microscope" effect. The flash bracket is ARCA Swiss compatible, so I can use it with a mini tripod as a handle or on a full size tripod. To be used for making recordings of Unnatural Language (www.michaelang.com/project/unnatural-language) at Dinacon in the jungle in Panama. Inspiration from Colin Hunter and Chris Watson.

I think it's my second time making this video and I made it way too long. I'll try to make them better next time around.

Turns out there was a massive festival called Bürgerfest that was happening a few days after we arrived in Berlin. It celebrated 60 years since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany, but now reunified, of course) and the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall coming down. More pictures of this event elsewhere in this set.

Even with an additional 1024*768, I'm still not sure how to take advantage of the space.

Here is the setup for the last illustration uploaded. Tried a softbox at first for fill, but existing incadesent added SOO much more warmth and a chance to pan.
