Last week we had to have an old maple tree in our yard cut down. The birds and the squirrels seemed to miss the tree at first. I wanted to save the 3' stump for a 'table' to put peanuts on it for the squirrels, and possibly potted plants in the summertime. This is the one of the more curious squirrels I've been calling "Snoopy" who was the first to investigate the new setup..

Thanks everyone for your views, comments, awards, invites, and faves.
It was early morning at Lake Bohinj, Slovenia, and the overnight mist was clearing. The rowers had just set off in their kayaks to creat a very pretty scene for me.
... A fond farewell.
Early morning light, Coate Water, Wiltshire.
Setup,
Angle finder on, lens almost touching the water
Tripod in the lake.
Sat on the bank.
Feet in the lake (wellies on ;o))
The only trouble with this setup is, that to see any of the images on the back screen you have to take the camera off the tripod, as you can't tilt it forward at all !! It's like film days you have to wait until later to see what you've got :o)
A full moon getting ready to disappear behind the mountains in Poverty Flats, Neveda. This is an area of free BLM (Bureau of Land Management) camping that attracts many people in the winter months.
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining.

This is my sunset from Victoria Point without any trees or water or anything else. Why I love sunsets is that you will never ever see the same one twice.
Warmth at Sunset gives hope for a great day to follow up. Not far from home I saw this and had to try to capture it. Which goes to show that one doesn’t have to go to great distances to find satisfaction as it’s sometimes right before our eyes. Be aware as your paradise may not be far from your grasp. Thanks for viewing my work. Gratitude and Kindness should be present within us no matter our location.

Log 2.002.5: My new associate has come through once again. Seems like he had some navigation modules and was able to install them into the ship. At least now I'm not in totally uncharted space anymore. We are going to head to a station nearby, hopefully we will be able to get some supplies. Seems like this new friend is making himself a lot more useful than I had imagined. I may just be able to make it back.
This was the sky as I arrived down at Middle River last evening ... I put on the 6 Stop ND and was checking for exposure and planning on a f/8 1 second capture to test the light and histogram (I was liking the glow there above the trees as the sun was going down), and then as I went to click the shot, the sun all of a sudden popped in through the trees. Quickly adjusted to f/11 and 2 seconds for the capture as the sun star with this 17mm lens is pretty nice at f/11.
Usually do not like plane contrails ... but they seemed to add to the sky here I think. So decided to keep this more of what was a test capture as the light was starting to fade.
At this time was still wondering what the sunset would bring in the coming minutes. Potential energy was there, but at this time it was just anticipation ;)

A man in a canoe paddles past as the sun sets over the Mediterannean Sea in Lebanon. Taken on the rocky coastline of Fidar, Jbeil.
Setting to tone for the evening can be helped by a great “Setting Sun”. Moods can change after a tough day when we allow Nature into our lives. This shot was taken from inside my car. Sunsets happen rapidly. I was safe about it and I think it paid off. Thanks for viewing my photos. Gratitude and Kindness are ever present in my work.
