Sun setting behind an old silo and barn. Whats left of an old dairy that was abandon many, many years ago.
A very thin crescent moon setting just after sunset. It's rare to see this phase, only 23 hours after new moon and depends on having good conditions and a bit of luck. The clouds from earlier in the day had cleared, there was minimal haze, and I found a spot with only some distant trees on the horizon across the marsh and water of the refuge.
This is a time-lapse of 36 frames every 8 seconds for a total of about 5 minutes, taken with a long lens with some additional cropping. [Nikon D800, 200-500mm f/5.6 lens @ 500mm, 0.7sec f/6.7].
Week 4
I know I am a week late with this one, but there's a pretty good reason for it. We are moving to Texas and I spent last week boxing things, moving furniture and cramming a week's plus worth of cleaning into two days. OY!!
This one took me about 4.5 hours of makeup but was well worth the final shot... I think. LOL!

Lyrics:
Like a moth to a flame, my wings burn away,
When things are too beautiful, I smash them to pieces,
The more that you love me insecurity releases,
And I'll be the one that's to blame,
So I'll sell my soul to blaze
Like a moth to a flame.
Week 2
Things are getting very busy. I started this week off spending a lot of time with Teddy. We spent most of Sunday and Monday running around exploring, experimenting with lights, and taking star trails. I wanted to spend as much time with him as I could before Tuesday when he would be going back to New Hampshire for a job. Those star trails turned out incredible by the way. On Tuesday my beautiful girlfriend came to visit for the last time this Christmas break due to my big trip that was coming up. Wednesday I shot some film with Eric and quickly explored an interesting island in Hull. Thursday, George and I explored the weird island a bit more. It is a huge condominium complex built on top of a military bunker much like the others in that area. It is such a cool and creepy spot! It looks a little like a secret government facility or something. I really want to see if we can do some filming there at some point. Friday, my last day before my big trip, I spent most of the day in Boston setting up an art gallery for work. It was to promote my dads new book on Allen Iverson. The gallery ended up being a huge success and a lot of people showed up. George, Paul, and Alex made an appearance and we ended up leaving after a little to explore around the Prudential Center. Scott ended up joining us later in the night to take some long exposures. Now that leaves me to where I am now. That big trip that I mentioned a few times, for work, we have to go to Miami, North Carolina, the Bahamas, then back to Miami all in a row in about a months time. As I type this, I am on the road with my cousin driving the company sprinter van down to Miami. Its moments like these when I am very happy than I stopped the daily upload because for the next month, I might not have any free time. I can promise you though, these next couple of weeks will be incredible and I will have many photos to show for it.
I can’t wait to see what this next week will bring!
- www.kevin-palmer.com - After clouds covered the mountains for days, they finally cleared out this evening. In this part of the forest rime ice coated every single pine needle on the trees. I just barely had time to capture the bright planet Venus before it set in the west.
Setting sun with, the wreck off the SS Kaffir in the shot, 41 years there now, my grandpa, took me down, the day after it ran aground.
A beautiful capture of our Sol setting over fields in Northamptonshire.

A cheerful, warm setting for a special Christmas dinner party I had for my sister, France, her hubby, Ron, and two of our close friends. France and Ron were here for 2 weeks, yet it was gone in the blink of an eye ... that's why it's so important to show love and appreciation to those you care about most and to enjoy every precious moment life has to offer!

A stunning sunset over Iligan City, Mindanao. The warm orange glow of the setting sun reflects over the distant sea, casting a serene backdrop as the smoke from wood and charcoal fires drifts through the barangays below. This image captures the daily rhythm of life in the Philippines, blending the natural beauty of the landscape with the comforting scenes of evening preparations in the local neighborhoods.
Viewing the fusion of a setting sun and twilight over Pittsburgh, overlooking PA Route 28 from the 31st Street Bridge, offering a unique view of the city.

Great team work makes carrying and setting up the beach umbrella that much easier. Dr. Bruce Banner (Hot Toys Bruce Banner) and his wife, Natasha (Hot Toys Black Widow) have returned to the Savannah area for their second anniversary!
There’s something very inviting about the humble bench. All over the world, in all kinds of settings – sometimes crowded, sometimes lonely – they call out to us to sit for a while, rest, and enjoy the view. Whether that view is out over the ocean, across a green field, or even onto a simple suburban footpath, benches make for the perfect place to break up a peaceful stroll, morning, noon or evening.
On our way to the Weisskugel in the Ötztaler Alps on skis, our way on the glacier towards the Hintereisjoch was illuminated by the (almost) full moon. Which set below the horizon just when the sun rose!
View my best, my most interesting, my least interesting.
Over Lake Monroe.
I took the dogs out for their second walk of the morning; was admiring the mist on the lake over to the east, and then turned around toward the west, and saw this. Ran inside to get my camera.
This is the second Petite Blythe coat I made (pattern from DCR#4). Every time I set the sleeves for dolly clothes (any size), I always sew them in with hand stitching. For me, the most difficult type of sleeve to set in are the NON-puffy sleeves. Puffy sleeves seem to be a little more forgiving because of the gathers. I have tried using a sewing machine to set these tiny dolly sleeves in, but it never looks right.....and out comes the stitch-ripper.
Q: Does anybody out there use a sewing machine to set in non-puffy sleeves? Do you have any advice on how to do this? Thanks in advance!
We had been hiking through the city for hours now. It was starting to get late and my legs were killing me. The sun was starting to set behind the city. We were about to go into a opened area down the street before Cristy stopped at a building to our right. She looked it over before turning back to me.
Cristy - “Alright, we’ll set up for the night in here.”
Phin - “Whatever you say.”
She started through the doorway; which was lacking doors to begin with. I followed behind as she checked her corners. It was hard to tell what the place used to be, a clothing store maybe? Probably nothing worth checking though, since it’d probably be either burnt to ashes or covered in them. Some of the walls were green with mold while others were coated in dust. Cloths racks were either which-wayed or flipped over. A checkout counter was against the far wall. Cristy walked over to the other side of the room and found a doorway.
Cristy - “Higher ground will be better.”
She went up through the doorway as I continued to follow behind.
