Wooden block set by Schowanek, marked as made in the U.S. Zone, Germany, which dates the design of the label to pre-1950.

This is a small set, the box size is approx. 70 x 80 mm, and the price label shows it was sold in Harrods for 4/6.

The company originated in the Sudetenland area of Czechoslovakia. After the Second World War the factory was nationalised and continued to produce wooden toys in a similar style. The Schoanek company re-established itself firstly in Austria, and then in the western part of Germany.

Next to an abandoned cabin on Squirrel Lake is this chair next to the remains of a fire pit surrounded by some fencing. When it was being used it must have been charming and quite isolated. All the other cabins are decades newer.

A pair of ATSF SD40-2's and a KCS SD70Ace lead a transfer from BNSF Argentine Yard out along the BNSF Emporia Sub in Kansas City Missouri.

I'm happy to present the newest MforMonkey set: "Springtime in Muryevo".

This set consists of a fur russian hat, fully lined; a felt best with hand embroidery; a white blouse with puff sleeves; an apron with embroidery lace; a pleated skirt and two ruffled petticoats.

This little mix of Western European costumes was inspired by the british TV miniseries "A young doctor's notebook".

If you saw the show, it will seam strange to you as it's very dark and gore, but extremely fun to watch nonetheless. It takes place in a tiny village in 1917 revolutionary Russia during the winter, so it was fun to imagine how it would look in spring.

I love the peasant women costumes and wanted to do something related to this traditional costume with a bulky skirt for some time.

It was lots of fun trying to get the exact amount of bulkiness for the skirt, I had to use two petticoats to get it right. Also discovered this amazing fabric while in the US to use for the skirt. It's called Shot cotton from Kaffee Fassett. One of the most fascinating fabrics I've found in a while. The blouse is the piece I need to work more as I want to try a different fabric and pattern for it.

It's nice to be working on some girly outfits again. ^___^

It still needs some tweaking as usual, but I am very happy with the result!

A Metra Union Pacific West train crossing the Fox River at Geneva, IL on the old (1917) CNW bridge. The bridge was built long ago with expansion in mind. Such expansion from double to triple tracks has yet to happen.

The cheetah is built for speed. It has long, slim, muscular legs, a small, rounded head set on a long neck, a flexible spine, a deep chest, nonretractable claws, special pads on its feet for traction and a long, tail for balance. Although fast, the cheetah cannot run at full speed for long distances (100 yards is about the limit) because it may overheat.

Cheetahs have distinctive black "tear stripes" that connect from the inside corner of each eye to the mouth that may serve as an antiglare device for daytime hunting.

A container stack train stopped just short of a signal tower between Geneva and Dekalb, IL on the Geneva subdivision of the Union Pacific. The train was at a full stop, and the crossing gates were not activated. Does anyone know the clearance height from rail to bottom of the bridge, for these new signal bridges ? My guess is 10 meters but not sure. Seem very very tall

Working service Pink Route 8 from Bedgrove is this 2001 Plaxton bodied Dennis Dart (Y387HKE) that has recently been transferred to the shires from Arriva Midlands (Formally 2111) and is seen entering Aylesbury town centre before terminating at the bus station.
