EXPLORED ON 19 JUNE 2009 - # 180
As spring months gave way to summer, the sunrises get earlier and earlier. So here we were last week at one of our usual spots, waiting for our light-filled friend to appear. The grey sky affected the dawn colors very much, and we were not quite satisfied with the results.
So we drove on, on our photographic journey with a heavy heart. As we crossed one of the bridges on the way, I saw a potential subject through the corner of my eye, and my car stopped. I backed up a bit and we got down with our gear.
The sun was hiding perfectly behind an electric pole, and ensuring a beautiful silhouette. I framed it and clicked a few shots. I could not see much through the view finder as the light was intense. For a few minutes my eyes could only see bright white light. When my vision got normal and I reviewed my images, I smiled. My angel of luck had accompanied me. Check out my High Voltage Friend, flying into the sky.

Seen passing down near Cambidge street (Aylesbury) is Volvo B7TL (Y417CFX) of Red Kite Commercial Services is working (Friday only) service 154 to Newton Longville via Stewkley having just departed from the bus station. New to Bournmouth Yellow Buses in 2001 as 417 & still wears the colour scheme.
This is what happens when you're set up to shoot a stationary bird and it decides to fly. Focus overall is a little too soft for my liking, but I kind of like the motion blur on the wings. Taken in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, Morris County, NJ. Thanks for looking!

Movie Set Dude
They were filming at the 50’s Diner in Fort Langley today. I believe this fellow was outside to make sure no one walked past the windows when the camera was running.

The extremely talented Jerry Builds Bricks came up with the wonderful idea of remaking classic LEGO sets last year and is running a 2021 season too.
For 2021 I chose the super-cute taxi set from 1971 - 50 years on, could I come up with a build that demonstrates both how much vehicle design has changed, as well as how sophisticated @lego has gotten?
The original set has just 17 pieces, no curves and is built 100% studs-up, proudly showing 32 of its total surface area of 40 studs, yet has wonderfully simple and elegant proportions. Onto my build, which has a few more pieces at around 130; how could an EV taxi look? I kept the colour scheme of the original set, including the wheels, but thought a mash-up of the original red, but with a nod to the checker graphics often seen on taxis. Of course the side graphics say TAXi, not TAXI as everything hi-tech has to have a lower-case i, right?

“New Beginnings”
I moved to Burien five months ago and I am very honored, and grateful to have the opportunity to introduce my self to you, my new community, here at the Burien Community Center. All the work that you see has been inspired by my new surrounds; especially the yard. It has been a long time dream of mine to have one and its presence fills up my life.
So much so, that it spills out and into my studio, its walls, these walls and maybe your walls in the future.
I hope you enjoy it... It’ll be here till the end of May. Cheers!
