With little Severin in a canoe on Lake Bohinj, I close the series about Soča, the Triglavski Narodni Park, from this wonderful area.

The next few days I'll be on vacation without flickr. We'll see you again with the current pictures from Abruzzo from mid-June.

what can i say? we’re expats. foreigners. people with funny accents. enough reason to celebrate the national holiday in an absurd, stereotypical way, although dirndls, könig ludwig weißbier and pretzels have nothing to do with the german reunification. but it is also the last weekend of oktoberfest over in munich, so i guess it kind of made sense after all.

El queso Servus es una creación única que fusiona dos tradiciones europeas: la alpina de Baviera (Alemania) y la de La Mancha (España). Es un queso de mezcla que combina leche de vaca y de oveja para lograr un perfil de sabor equilibrado y complejo.

Es una colaboración entre la plataforma española Formaje y el productor bávaro Albert Kraus. El queso base es el Hornkäse de Baviera, al cual se le añade queso Manchego directamente en la cuajada durante su elaboración.

scorcio del Castello dei Clavesana, alle spalle del centro storico cerviese, edificato dagli omonimi marchesi attorno al XIII secolo, inglobando nella costruzione un'antecedente torre in stile romanico.

 

Secondo alcune fonti storiche locali il toponimo Cervo deriverebbe dalla parola latina Servo, ossia offrire servizi, già presente su alcune insegne o tavole risalenti all'Impero romano. L'attuale denominazione si ebbe nel tardo Cinquecento con il passaggio dalla lingua latina al volgare.

 

A seguito della conquista della Liguria nel 181 a.C. da parte delle legioni romane, il primitivo borgo di Cervo diviene un importante centro grazie alla sua posizione elevata e dalla presenza di alcune sorgenti. Intorno al 950 il castrum di Cervi divenne feudo dei marchesi di Clavesana e nel secolo successivo racchiuso da imponenti mura.

 

Nel 1204 si proclamò libero comune sottoponendosi alla protezione della Repubblica di Genova e proprio quest'ultima assegnò nel 1330 il feudo ai Cavalieri di Malta. L'anno seguente gli stessi cavalieri vendettero il borgo al marchese Lazzaro Doria. La proprietà fu in seguito conquistata dal marchese Enrico Del Carretto, discendente della famiglia Clavesana, e soltanto nel 1384 il feudo ritornò ad essere dominio della repubblica genovese. Sì costituì pertanto una salda alleanza tra la popolazione e Genova, tanto che nel 1425 i Genovesi concessero a Cervo il diritto di eleggere propri podestà locali.

 

Subì nel XVI secolo come altri comuni liguri improvvisi sbarchi dei pirati saraceni, attratti dai notevoli traffici commerciali cervesi del corallo. I pescatori cervesi si erano infatti specializzati in questo tipo di attività. Il corallo veniva pescato nei mari della Corsica e della Sardegna e da Cervo veniva riesportato per la lavorazione, che avveniva soprattutto a Genova e Livorno.

Nel 1815 verrà inglobato nel Regno di Sardegna, così come stabilirà il Congresso di Vienna del 1814 anche per gli altri comuni della Repubblica Ligure, e successivamente nel Regno d'Italia dal 1861.
