One of the most photographed waterfall here in Iceland, Seljalandsfoss. Guess you´ve seen it before....but this is my first of it :o)
It´s a great experience going there, you can actually walk behind it and if you look closely at the pic, you can see some people there.
Enjoy your sunday
Take care

I had been reviewing some photos taken in 2009 in Iceland. This is before I was routinely stitching photos together for wider angle views. I discovered that I had two overlapping images of Seljalandsfoss waterfall that I was able to combine for a bigger shot.
If you want to take a good picture of Seljalandsfoss you have to visit the place in the evening. When I was there it was to early and the place was completely in the shadow.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - I walked the loop around Seljalandsfoss about 3 times, capturing the different angles as the light changed. I was glad I had my rain jacket with me. The group of people just to the left of the waterfall is a wedding party doing a photoshoot.

La vecchia scogliera sull'oceano (ora distante parecchi chilometri) è diventata il confine tra le Highlands e le Lowlands.
Da tutto questo altopiano scendono tante piccole cascate.

The old ocean cliff (now several kilometers away) has become the border between the Highlands and the Lowlands.
Many small waterfalls descend from all this plateau.

Highly visible just off Hringvegur, about two hours from Reykjavík, the spectacular Seljalandsfoss is understandably one of Iceland's most visited waterfalls.
Meltwater flowing west from the glacier covering the Eyjafjallajökull volcano forms the Seljalands River. On reaching the overhanging edge of an ex-coastline (the sea is now ~10 km away across a wide plain), the river plunges 60 m, about the same height as nearby Skógafoss.
As that implies, one can walk through the huge hollow behind the falling water, though the spray is as wetting as full-on rain and the always-slippery path is apparently closed in winter due to falling ice.
Logistics meant that we joined a minibus tour, making an hour-long stop here alongside the usual crowd of tourists, though I've managed to remove all but one of them from the image, for scale.
I'd certainly recommend visiting, but I'd prefer to travel independently, arriving early or late (it'd be stunning on a sunny evening!) and staying longer both to fully appreciate this scene (experimenting with better composition!) and to cross to the 'hidden' waterfall of Gljúfrabúi, just ~600 m away.

The land of Fire & Ice. There was so much ice I couldn't get the tripod to stop sliding away so I had no choice but to take hand held in this position.

The Ring Road (Route 1) goes around the outskirts of Iceland and offers an amazing amount of versatility and beauty in it's landscapes.
This is Seljalandsfoss, which was one of my favorite waterfalls on our first trip to Iceland. It is 60 meters high and looks even more beautiful in the summer, with the lush green grass and flowered fields seeming to stretch for days into the distance along the cliff side.

Beginning of March 2020 I spent 10m days with a few friends in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss, was our stop after Reykjavick. This waterfalls is 8m meter tall, normally you can hike and go behind this waterfalls, but the day we went it's too icy to hike to it. So I roam around a found a few more smaller waterfalls.
Seljalandsfoss in southern Iceland. You can walk behind it and get yourself pretty wet but it's worth it.
Seljalandsfoss is a waterfall that can be fully encircled, situated on the South Coast of Iceland with a drop of 60 metres.
Due to the waterfall’s close proximity to the Ring Road and impressive natural features, it is one the country's most famous and visited falls. Majestic and picturesque, it is one of the most photographed features in all of Iceland.
Seljalandsfoss waterfall, part of the river Seljalandsá, has its origins underneath the glacier Eyjafjallajökull. The volcano beneath this ice cap was the one that erupted in 2010 and caused havoc at airports across Europe.
The cascade of the falls is relatively narrow but falls from a tall cliff that once marked the country's coastline, the sea is now located across a stretch of lowlands and is visible from the site.
