Frozen Seljalandsfoss - First proper day trip in 2021
Seljalandsfoss is a waterfall in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Visitors can walk behind the falls into a small cave. (wiki)
Another famous waterfall in Iceland, there are a number of fabulous shots of Seljalandsfoss on flickr (particularly the side views!).
We didn't stop for a view until after our trek through Þórsmörk and as such it was really quite dark by the time I took this. Don't let the lightness of this image fool you, I had to use 0.4 exposure with the iso at 1600 - it was a lot darker than here.
That lone figure is Phil (my best man at the UK wedding) seeing how close he could get without getting drenched ;)
For me, this was one of the most beautiful places in Iceland. It's near the south coast of the Island. In fact, you can just make out one of the Vestmannjar Islands on the horizon at the extreme right.
Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls of Iceland. It is very picturesque and therefore its photo can be found in many books and calendars. It was a waypoint during the first leg of The Amazing Race 6. Seljalandsfoss is situated in between Selfoss and Skógafoss at the road crossing of Route 1 (the Ring Road) with the track going into Þórsmörk. This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 60 meters (200 ft) over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is possible to go behind the waterfall.

As the weather is bleak, not a holiday in sight and nothing much to photograph at the present, one from last year's trip to Iceland.
Beginning of March 2020 I spent 10m days with a few friends in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss, was our stop after Reykjavick. This waterfalls is 8m meter tall, normally you can hike and go behind this waterfalls, but the day we went it's too icy to hike to it. So I roam around a found a few more smaller waterfalls.
La cascada Seljalandsfoss se encuentra al sur de Islandia. Está situada entre Selfoss y Skógar. Tiene una caída de 60 metros en el río Seljalandsá.
Se puede bordear y ver el agua desde una cueva que tiene detrás.

One of the most photographed waterfall here in Iceland, Seljalandsfoss. Guess you´ve seen it before....but this is my first of it :o)
It´s a great experience going there, you can actually walk behind it and if you look closely at the pic, you can see some people there.
Enjoy your sunday
Take care

I had been reviewing some photos taken in 2009 in Iceland. This is before I was routinely stitching photos together for wider angle views. I discovered that I had two overlapping images of Seljalandsfoss waterfall that I was able to combine for a bigger shot.
If you want to take a good picture of Seljalandsfoss you have to visit the place in the evening. When I was there it was to early and the place was completely in the shadow.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - I walked the loop around Seljalandsfoss about 3 times, capturing the different angles as the light changed. I was glad I had my rain jacket with me. The group of people just to the left of the waterfall is a wedding party doing a photoshoot.
