Day 61 of 365 31/05/09 The weather is amazing and it makes me think of Holidays, when I see planes in the sky I always wonder about their destination. Unfortunately for me my house is North facing so the sun never touches the front of the house, but at least it provides a cool haven after a day out in the hot May sunshine. a little less revealing than the last SP I took!
Yes it is me, making acrobatics at home in the background you can see my (vinyl) record collection and my Star Wars Collection ...
I guess I am about 25 years old on the image!

Hello all people of and on AD, I might still be alive or something similar soon starting another day job cleaning...
haven´t had much time for arts and farts...
As you might know I have an Electro-mixed media dada noise-glitch experimental art band...
...And as you might know I have designed all our sleeve designs (at the very least I think so) and made all our videos except for one which is unofficial :) some better and a few worse!!!

What makes us collect?
Well I can start off telling you how my Joker card collecting started, some drunk fool got red wine all over my favorite deck of cards with Skegness backs... so since my deck of cards was heavily marked for all future and more or less useless I kept the Joker who had managed to survive unsoiled...
Then when I got home I put it on my kitchen wall, and from then on I would pick out any joker from any new deck of cards I bough and put it on my kitchen wall...
Then on and on my Madness and craving for new Jokers to my collection grew, I asked friends and relatives if I could steal their Jokers... I suddenly couldn't just go past playing cards who for some weird reason would be trashing around on the streets, but had to turn every single one (that doesn't make you look rather nutty) and I found many new Jokers that way...
Later on when I got a cable connected to my flat I started browsing the interweb, for Jokers and quickly found out that I wasn't the only fool to collect fools and I started trading jokers with people in france, israel and Stockholm...
Well today I have close to 300 and I have then tidy in a big map wich is starting to bulge a lot...

For a creature who has felt a lot of pale spooky angst ridden soul screams I feel that these painting have given me a lot of calm... somehow it feel comforting that you are not alone...

Recently my mind wasn´t my greatest problem, my spine failed me again, was downed for some time, bedridden, taken away from my painting, somehow we or I at the very least get more annoyed when my body fail me rather than my mind, when we feel great while we are on our feet and healthy we take this for granted and when (if) we get well again we are thankful for a short while and then we forget to be thankful again...
Todays feature is dedicated to this faithful companion which we rarely see are charming friend the skull...
don´t forget that friend lurking there underneath flesh and skin, say hello to you hidden friend the next time you look at your face in the mirror, after all he (she, it) is the shelter of your mind and the base sculpt of your face...

Paul's back for the weekend so after a lazy morning we headed in Manchester.
We planned to go for a photographic wander and then have food and go to the cinema. I really wanted to see "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" which was showing at Printworks.
We parked up at my uni and walked into town. We walked through Salford, taking a few pics of the architecture, noting some fine examples, and sadly lots of derelict examples. We crossed the River Irwell from Salford into Manchester, stopping for a couple of pics on the bridge.
We came to near Granada Studios and I pointed out the Coronation St set. We walked up to the gates and saw we could see Dev's shop. I had visited the Corrie set way back in the early 90s as part of the Granda Studios tour.
We then headed through St John's Garden which had a very sad memorial to the people buried here. There used to be a church on the site and the people remained buried under the garden.
I remember that we could visit Manchester Central Library and take photos. It is being refurbished and will be closed for some time. The main reading room is circular with a glass ceiling and some interesting architectural features. Was slightly tricky to capture it all. I don't know what the plans are for the future but I hope the new design doesn't completely destroy the old. Would be a shame not to preserve some parts I think.
From the library we headed to the Arndale Centre and had a drink at McDonalds and a cake at Greggs.
After checking the cinema times we realised we had just missed one showing and would have to wait till 8ish for the next. We booked tickets to see the subtitled version and headed off to get somewhere to eat.
We hadn't realised that X Factor - The Live Show was in town and had just kicked out. Consequently all the eateries in the Northern Quarter were packed. We headed further into town and ended up at a Mediterranean place and I had a Moroccan lamb tagine (which was huge) and Paul had pork with calvados sauce and olive mash.
The film was great. Really recommend it and it was a good, sound adaptation of the book. Am glad we went for the subtitled version. The dubbed voices would've annoyed me. The film was graphic, as the book is. Paul enjoyed the film, even though he hadn't read the book. They told us that the next 2 films are going to follow in quick succession. I need to read the 3rd book - paperback out 1st April!

My day was good. Work was good. Getting a little tired now. I'm in the middle of an eight day stretch.

fill = on-axis behind camera: Godox TT600 speedlight bounced on Manfrotto Halo Compact Difflector (soft silver), 3 stops below key.
2) Self Portraits. You can count my self portrait shots on one hand in my stream. Cinematic shot's don't exactly count in my book. The main focus is the scene not the specific person (as they can be anybody). Little bit of an exam beard going on there.
I'll also be adding a new lens to my setup come Saturday, Nikkor 35mm f/2. I seem to be collecting lenses under 50mm, which doesn't exactly solve my telephoto problem. This means that now I'm 4/4 for lenses under 50mm.
Should comment quick that both these flashes are fired about eye level, snoot on the flash to the far right perpendicular to my face, the other flash is in between those two and a special trick added to keep it off most of my face. Both flashes were caught in my eye.

"Vintage" is the theme for We're Here! and fiddling in Photoshop with filters while wearing my "vintage" Wonder Woman Crush cap was the only way you'd get to see my face this week.
I fiddled with layers. I played with effect filters. I used the burn tool. And the caption for this photo would be: "No one knew I looked so much like my grandmother, or that she was Wonder Woman..."
Yes, I know that's ridiculous, but I'm on Day Seven of a pain flareup, so that's what we're getting from me today!
It has been raining for a while now and I just don't feel that well today ...

day two hundred and five
after the initial 'you want me to do what?' when faced with a moving ski lift, it's actually quite peaceful once you get on it. this one led from the bottom of my first blue run to the joy of mimi's burger american.
I've wanted to take a picture for a while that represents the internal struggle that I feel with being a stay-at-home-mom. Some days I feel like it's a crock and I should do more. The business-woman in me gets fired up and says stuff like, "If you really wanted to contribute to your family you'd go get a real job." Other days I feel like the luckiest mom in the world. I know that a lot of families don't have the opportunity to have a parent stay at home.
Of course there is always the struggle with the outside world. Lot's of people think that SAHM's should "do more".
It's hard but I know that by staying at home, I'm making the right choice for me and my family.
Grrr. Got home at 9.30pm - ready for bath and an early night. Got a bolt and a normal lock on the door. Could not get the key to turn the lock completely. So I wondered if I had used the wrong key by accident. Tried the other key. No luck. Grrr. Tried the first key. No luck. Got about 3/4s round and then stuck. Wiggled the door. Pulled door towards me. Wiggled the key.
Eventually drove to the garage to get some WD40 (squirtable oil). Squirted.
Tried again. No joy. Thinking now ... "here comes a bill for £100" for a locksmith!
Then I noticed that the flap thing was actually jammed - not just resting against - in the door. Aha. Lightbulb moment! Unlocked the normal lock. Pushed the door. Managed to free the flappy thing. Tried again. Success! But walked in and found I had oil on the wall where the squirting was obviously a bit much.
A wasted 40mins though and by that time I was not in the mood for any creative flickr-ing. Grrr. So needed one of these www.flickr.com/photos/watersapphire/4301133161/in/set-721... so had one but fell asleep in it - then eventually bed. Bliss at last!
Anyway hope you had a better day!!
