Now, apparently I've been tagged and am supposed to put up a selfy and tell 10 things that people might not know about me. Jave I will get you back for this. Sleep with one eye open my friend. Mooohahahaha LOL....

So apparently, some genius came up with this stupid game to annoy millions of flickrites. I strongly oppose the whole idea and premise behind this non-sense. LOL. OK, seriously, No-one wants to see the faces behind the camera. There is a reason we are behind the camera. Our mugs are meant to be hidden from the world. So that the delusion and fantasy of beautiful people making beautiful images stays alive and well. Then someone comes along with this game and shatters the dream of so many and cripples the very fabric of our existence. OK a little too dramatic, I know :-).....but its late and I had to get this up before midnight for a friend because the timing fits so well.

10 Things you probably don't know about me......

1) Today is my birthday....and yes I share it with the 1st President of the United States of America.....Yeah....I know...Its pretty cool......LMAO.....

2) I died several times in the hospital soon after I was born and then a few times after I got home, I've been told by my parents. Not sure exactly what that means, the doctors couldn't really explain it to my parents at the time. Maybe I was just too lazy to breath. That, or it was just too damn cold when I got out. ???

3) I grew up in East San Jose and still live in the same neighbor hood that I grew up in, although I now send my kids to private school. There was 6 shootings and 2 murders in my High School when I attended it, and my limit is 5 shooting and 1 murder, so I decided on private school for my kids....hey...a limit is a limit...right ???

4) My family lived in a 20 foot trailer for a couple of years (not exactly sure how long), while my father was building our house from the ground up by himself, when we first moved to San Jose. My first toys were re-bar and cinder blocks. Possibly some cement or sand. Some kids had Linkon Logs, me and my brother had cinder blocks. Hey....they worked....but it got a little sketchy when we stacked them too high.....Ouch....Mommy....I ...need...a...band aid....LOL.....

5) The one thing that I've done longer then photography (25years) is playing the guitar (30 years). That is also the only thing that I've spent more money on as well. I have over a dozen guitars and half a dozen amps. But my first guitar I found in a trash dumpster behind a building when I went to work one day with my dad. It was beat to $hit and could barely stay tuned (thus being in the trash) but it lit a spark which still burns today. In fact, I was playing one of my guitars before I sat down to post this.

6) I love riding motorcycles. I own a Harley Davidson Road King and can not see a day that I would every want to get rid of it. I plan on handing it down to my son. Although, I do not get to ride it as often as I like, when I do, it is something that feeds the heart and soul, relaxing the mind and giving a true feeling of freedom in a place that feels more or more stifling everyday, as our cities get more crowded and freedoms feel less free.

7) I am a pessimistic Optimist. I see that the glass is half empty, but can imagine what it would be like if it was full. Then I figure out a way to fill it. Half full my a$$. :-)

8) I am the son of two immigrants. I am the first of my family to be born in the United States of America and the first to graduate from a University. My elementary school doesn't exist any longer, wiped off the face of the earth and my high school called Mt. Pleasant was neither on a mountain or pleasant in so many ways. I graduated from Santa Clara University, which opened my eyes to both how much more life could encompass and also how cruel it could be in the process.

9) My Hero in my father. Our relationship has been both turbulent and rewarding. It is through watching him that I have become the man that I am and have determined what it is that I aspire to be.

10) Yes, that is barbed wire behind me in the photo. And no, I've never been stuck behind a wall of that nature (as I've already been asked) :-). I won't tell you where it was taken and can't really say why I picked this scene. I think its a symbolic type thing. Something about breaking through barriers or limits. Use your imaginations. Break down walls, limits, restrictions, whatever. Do what needs to be done, to accomplish what you want in life. Whether it be that next photo or that next job. Don't see the glass as half empty or half full. Figure out a way to fill you glass to the rim and then drink it. Then laugh when your done. That's what life's all about.

Stay healthy and safe.

Enjoy :-)

May 30, 2016

I had a wonderful day with my sister. We took a day trip up north to my cousins cabin. It was very nice!

Well, it's day 7 of the 7 days Spring 2010 and I have to take my hat off to you 7dayers, You are such a lovely bunch of flickrites and very generous with your comments - you all make such an effort to make your comments to those in the group - new or not.

It also strikes me that everyone seems very open and honest about what's going on in their lives - good and bad - and I love that - it feels very supportive.

It really helps to motivate me to carry on with my 365. See you all in Summer - have a fab 3 months.

PS I do love my fellow 365Nov09ers and other Flickr friends too! :-)

None of my photos are HDR or blended images.

-Semua gambar yang ada didalam stream saya adalah bukan HDR, harap maklum

This is my Dreaming series, where I have created Self- portraits. I have used my Self in these images as I am often full of Photo ideas, but it always seems to be a challenge finding a model when I need them, and I did not want my inspiration to run low.

I was feeling very artistic and grabbed my Camera and tripod and started shooting these images.

2024 self-portrait challenge 46 of 52

Key = on axis above subject: Flashpoint eVOLV200 Pro with bare bulb bounced on a LumoPro 3-in-1 43” umbrella (white).

Rim = left and right of subject: 2x Godox TT600 (bare) zoomed at 20 mm with white bounce card out at 1/64 power.

This is a slightly different take on “2024_SelfPortrait_16”.

I am late this week! Taken with my husbands iPad....I have felt like I am being pulled in many directions lately! We totaled our car coming home from Yosemite, then my desktop computer crashed! Hard disk trashed so I have been putting it all back together! Luckily we were not hurt in the car event, and all my pictures were safe in the computer crash.... life is good!

I'm trying to convey the message of "embracing yourself" in the photo. Most of the time, people wear make-up to appease the society. However, the make-up is distorted in the photo. The girl was trying to her best to please people, but she failed. She felt ashamed and trying to turn her head to the dark in order to hide her imperfection. I used the contrast between the light and the dark to portray the idea of "spotlight" and "privacy".

"Leaving in the morning on a jet plane, I know when I'll be back again"

I went to a Naturopathic doctor today - first time since I was ill back in March/April as (touch wood) all has been well :-) and my supplements had run out (things basically to help digestion without going for the tradtional medicine / pharmacology - just my personal preference if possible)

And (touch wood again) I have had zero pain since then which is absolutely brilliant and I am sooooo happy about.

I want to make sure it stays that way so I went back. All good (fingers crossed) and I'll be ordering some more natural supplements (but less) this afternoon.

At the end of the session, the naturopath gave me a little bit of reflexology too. Right at the end of the session, she took both my feet and legs and from the feet she wiggled them. That's the best way i can think of describing it. She wiggled and wiggled until it made my spine - she described it as how a fish's body moves when it swims - zig zagging. The idea is to get oxygen/movement/energy into you spine.

Well. when she stopped, it was like having bubbles emanate from my spine. It was lovely! Like drinking champagne in your spine. Aaaah.

Self-portrait

Got a new softbox, Westcott Apollo 28x28, also bought the 40 degree Grid. Set it up tonight and took some hand held self portraits, to test things out. Most of these were shot with manual setting via YN-622C, at either 1/8th power or 1/4 power, focal length set to auto

Day 51 Year 2: So I took Molly out to pee this morning and while walking back up the stairs in my slippers (cuz I'm a lazy bastard and didn't feel like putting my shoes on) I stubbed the hell out of my toe on the stair :( It hurt, lots, I almost cried! The toenail actually split and there was blood...can't say I've stubbed one that badly in a long time :(

One of the things that kept me busy and off of Flickr was a photography course I took in the fal. It was a great course with a great teacher (Eric Boutlier Brown), and our final project was ten images with some kind of link. I went with a self-portrait based on ten objects that tell something about me.

Juego: Homenaje

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love.

From the very first time I rest my eyes on you, girl,

My heart says follow t'rough.

But I know, now, that I'm way down on your line,

But the waitin' feel is fine:

So don't treat me like a puppet on a string,

'Cause I know I have to do my thing.

Don't talk to me as if you think I'm dumb;

I wanna know when you're gonna come - soon.

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love,

'Cause if summer is here,

I'm still waiting there;

Winter is here,

And I'm still waiting there.

--- Guitar solo ---

Like I said:

It's been three years since I'm knockin' on your door,

And I still can knock some more:

Ooh girl, ooh girl, is it feasible?

I wanna know now, for I to knock some more.

Ya see, in life I know there's lots of grief,

But your love is my relief:

Tears in my eyes burn - tears in my eyes burn

While I'm waiting - while I'm waiting for my turn,

See!

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love;

I don't wanna wait in vain for your love, oh!

I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna -

I don't wanna wait in vain.

I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna -

I don't wanna wait in vain.

No, I don't wanna (I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna -

I don't wanna - I don't wanna wait in vain) -

No I - no I (I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't

wanna - I don't wanna wait in vain) -

No, no-no, I, no, I (I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna -

I don't wanna - I don't wanna wait in vain) -

It's your love that I'm waiting on (I don't wanna - I don't wanna -

I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna wait in vain);

It's me love that you're running from.

It's Jah love that I'm waiting on (I don't wanna - I don't wanna -

I don't wanna - I don't wanna - I don't wanna wait in vain);

It's me love that you're running from.

waiting in vain

Today I was diagnosed as having ADHD by my therapist. He says he's "ninety-eight percent sure" anyway. I was actually pretty skeptical, except.... uhm... I fit the checklist. Very well. Scarily well. And it explains a few things I've been having trouble with for, oh say... five years.

So, here's what's going to happen!

I get treated for the ADHD, which in turn should take care of all of my other issues (anxiety, depression) as those are just supposed to be offshoots of that. Uhm... and I'm hoping that after that, things will start to fall into place.

And the picture? That's a slice of the chaos that is my bedroom
