I took this self portrait of myself to highlight a very thoughtful 66 th birthday gift from my Son. The gift is the shirt I am wearing and it says storyteller. I like that it really does say in one word how I feel about my life long hobby of photography. My cameras have been many but always the camera has been the tool that I have used to find capture and then learn about the world around me, and finally to share what I have learned with anyone who cares to see.

I took this self-portrait some time ago, in a quiet minute where I felt like I needed the well known feeling of utter inner quietness that this kind of photography gives me. I think only those who do it will understand what that feels like... to others it usually just looks like utter self-centeredness. And it is, to some extent, but it also makes me, personally, feel very at ease and clear with myself.
First time since starting this project that I broke out my ring flash. I did not use the moon unit for these shots but I think I may tomorrow.
I'm not sure that I'm terribly happy with these shots.
This image is part of the Andros Hertz project that will soon be exhibited at Itaú Cultural - São Paulo, Brasil.
During a boring november afternoon I decided to do a new self portrait for my profile picture. I was going for that letterbox eye shot with a 16:9 aspect ratio. via 500px ift.tt/1lk8a5q
