I've joined the JFDI Friday group, challenge number one: self portrait!

Self Harm exhibit - Liverpool Tate museum

"Self" is about so much; it has many aspects. For this weeks theme I choose to focus on a current graphic design pattern that has caught my attention; trees that are pruned to have a stubby like look to the branches, and the layering of these photos with ones taken of mySELF.

Self Portrait made during a shooting.

1 YN560 into reflective umbrella on camera left - silver reflector on the right side

Canon 550D + Tokina 11-16

!! (Would be nice if everybody who adds this picture to his FAVS, would leave a short comment. This is very helpful for me as an upcoming photographer to see what you like and you don't like in my pictures :)

My room is totally that color :)

I really like green!

Self-portrait using a large mirror among oaks last week. I used selective coloring in the reflection only, while transforming the world beyond the reflection to black and white.

Too worried about the set up to smile - off camera Speedlite 480exii to my right fired with Canon ST-E2 trigger and a honeycomb on the flash set at -1 camera on manual f8 and 1/250 - shutter fired with self timer - dont look too happy!

Self-isolating because I've been pinged by the NHS Covid-19 app, which means I have to find subjects at home. I am sure this is an experience shared by many at the moment.

I've just bought the Fuji XT 4 and the Fujifilm 10-24 lens. I was looking forward to trying my kit out but am now stuck indoors. There are much worse situations in the world, of course.

I am waiting for my PCR test results. Fingers crossed.

Self portrait made early this year.Although I quite like this one I keep thinking self portraits are quite ridicolous.

Self-gratifying first self portrait with new camera and lens.

here are weaknesses in the overall system reveal: the camera setting fits, but the remote remote trigger is on strike, so select self-timer so that time is remaining to sit down - meanwhile, the seat mark is blown away. A nice grin again and then - the rickety tripod wobbles in the wind and the head is missing half

This summer-blooming wildflower is a member of the mint family. It gets its name from the fact that Native Americans and early pioneers thought it was useful for medicinal purposes.

Self-portrait with new tattoo, a memorial to my dearest friend. We met in high school and lived photography and darkrooms and adventuring with our cameras. While many things have happened since then, I thought our origin story is what I wanted to celebrate. Cancer sucks.

Clément - Semaine 9 // Self Portrait // Canon 5D + 20-35mm.

Thanks to Hélène for the lighting, and the help.

i don't usually do self portraits. i usually only have my picture taken at parties/weddings and on holidays for memento's sake. this is also for memento's sake.

self portrait in the reflection of a Horse's eye

I think the reason I barely practice portraits is because I feel like I'm stealing a piece of someone's soul when I take them.
