The weather has been awful and I'm dying to photograph something, so a self portrait it is! Hopefully kickstarting the people project again soon!

In an effort to get to grips with using off-camera flash for portraiture, I decided to spend an evening reading up on the subject. I'm VERY MUCH a beginner with this, and given a lack of willing victims (ahem, sorry... "SUBJECTS"!) - the only person I have to practice on is myself. So with that in mind - here goes nothing...
(Edit): Taken in a brightly lit room - using a Yongnuo 565EX on manual, 1/32 power, and hand-held approx 12 inches in front of me.
"Self" is about so much; it has many aspects. For this weeks theme I choose to focus on a current graphic design pattern that has caught my attention; trees that are pruned to have a stubby like look to the branches, and the layering of these photos with ones taken of mySELF.
Self-portrait using a large mirror among oaks last week. I used selective coloring in the reflection only, while transforming the world beyond the reflection to black and white.
a lil self portrait because the other self portrait idea i had didn't work out. oh well! sometimes u gotta improvise.
a lot of my family is sick so as long as it doesn't get to me, i am hoping to have some fun taking self portraits outside. fingers crossed

Camera right: Godox TT600 at 1/4 power and 35 mm through umbrella
Camera left: Godox TT350N at 1/32 power
Too worried about the set up to smile - off camera Speedlite 480exii to my right fired with Canon ST-E2 trigger and a honeycomb on the flash set at -1 camera on manual f8 and 1/250 - shutter fired with self timer - dont look too happy!
Please don't judge me for the bad double-exposure that was thrown in here. This is the only copy I could find of this photo, and I was feeling sentimental about my first successful self-portrait. I had to take this for a photography assignment last year. Just thought I'd post it.
Self-isolating because I've been pinged by the NHS Covid-19 app, which means I have to find subjects at home. I am sure this is an experience shared by many at the moment.
I've just bought the Fuji XT 4 and the Fujifilm 10-24 lens. I was looking forward to trying my kit out but am now stuck indoors. There are much worse situations in the world, of course.
I am waiting for my PCR test results. Fingers crossed.

This is an old photo of my friend Beth that I edited just because I was bored and I'm leaving for my sophomore year of college in a matter of days. All I want is to get out of this house and go back to school (never thought I'd ever love school more than my own my house).
