It's been a while that I tried to shoot a self-portrait, last Sunday I was feeling creative so I gave it a try, and I'm very pleased with the result!

Bathroom window Airstream 75th Anniversary Edition (2007).
Cuando supe que habÃa una en mi paÃs y que además se podÃa alquilar para pasar unos dÃas de vacaciones, no me lo pensé dos veces, era mi oportunidad para descubrir esa caravana que siempre habÃa visto en las pelÃculas y que nunca habÃa tenido la ocasión de pisar por dentro.
Tras varios meses de espera para encontrar el momento adecuado, al fin conseguà reservar unos dÃas en este sueño para cualquier caravanista. Definitivamente, es otra historia. Su estética llama poderosamente la atención debido a su revestimiento de aluminio pulido y perfectamente ensamblado, por su estética clásica, por sus dimensiones, todo es tan diferente...
El propietario nos ha contado la historia que le llevó a hacerse con la única caravana Airstream que existe en mi paÃs. La importó para su uso personal desde USA y fue toda una odisea, pero desde que la vio por primera vez, tuvo un flechazo y persiguió su sueño hasta que consiguió tenerla en el jardÃn de su casa. Ahora, unos años más tarde, la alquila para viajeros con ganas de descubrir AndalucÃa, pero durante mucho tiempo ha sido su juguete, un capricho carÃsimo que bien vale la pena.
La Edición Especial para conmemorar el 75 aniversario de Airstream, está decorada por el arquitecto y diseñador Christopher C. Deames, es un metro más ancha que el resto de modelos de la marca y su revestimiento interior no es de madera si no de aluminio pulido, igual que por fuera. Sólo se fabricaron 25 unidades, asà que muchos famosos quisieron hacerse con una. La primera que salió de fábrica fue para Johnny Depp...

I had a dream in which I had to give an adjective to a sentry in order to get past. For some reason my conscious self said "quirky." So here's my dream-inspired photo.

I've been meaning to do this shot for a while, just hadn't gotten around to it until now...

Shot on black fabric backdrop
4 lights, Key was an AlienBees B800 high cam left with a big reflector w/diffusion sock, 2 Nikon SB800's behind left & right in photoflex softboxes for edge light, and a third SB800 closer to the camera with just enough power to make the shurikens pop out.
The shot of me is one take(after about 2 dozen...) and the skyline background I had shot months ago... blend the 2 together and voila!

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve had bad
self esteem. Never really believed in myself or liked my body.
I’ve bin working extra hard this last year
with both my body and my confidence.
Yoga made me a new and stronger woman and a few days ago I celebrated 1 year on that journey.
So I took this picture (and a few others
in a small series) to celebrate and to
honor myself and my own body.

Another random reflection self portrait. I have been out shooting more than inside editing lately, which is a good thing, really. Being outside with my camera makes me much happier than staring at a computer screen all day. Anyways, hopefully i'll have some time soon to sit down and edit some of the architecture and cityscapes that I have been shooting lately.

i rarely do self-portraits. and since i am the picture taker in most situations - there aren't a lot of pictures of me in our family scrapbooks.
so i took this picture of myself after church today.
this week i discovered i am diabetic....for those of you who know what this means (i didn't until this week), my glucose levels are consistently over 300 - whether i have fasted or not. I realize i have had this for a while but have misinterpreted what might be causing my symptoms.
this is the not so good news....
but here's some AMAZING GOOD NEWS -
my 5 year cancer free mark is coming up soon and i am filled with gratitude. So many people have prayed for me and I consider my survival a miracle.
so i won't let this new diabetes thing get me down.
Looking through my camera lens, i am constantly reminded of just how awesome God is.
To all my flickr friends who view and comment on my pictures - thank you so much! Your opinions, criticisms, and affirmations are very valuable to me.
And to all of you who may not be Flickrites, but still check my site daily - I am so happy that following my passion for photography can bring some joy to your lives.
