SPP is the translation of Zwieschutzweiche. Berlin Lichtenberg station's Box B9 has two in this view. Basically these points are located in the middle of an M-shaped track configuration, where train routes can be set up over both legs at the same time, and therefore the point in question cannot provide flank protection for both routes. Although nowadays associated with computer controlled signalboxes, SPPs occured in old installations too.
Selective colour on this one. The original is here, but I think it's fairly obvious why I used it here. THe background is so busy, I needed a way to bring the subject, the little orchestra, forward, and maintain the attention on it. As I couldn't use depth of field to do the job for me, this seemed like an effective way to post-produce things, rather than just fun.
This is selective eyes portrait of Megan. This photo is intriguing because the only thing in color is her eyes and the detail in the iris' of her eyes really draw the attention of the viewers. The composition technique I used is simplicity because I really wanted the attention to be on the subject and nothing else. The lighting used in this portrait is loop lighting, there is no specific reason I chose this lighting just the fact that it lit up the eyes very well and kept the attention on them. The portrait is more interesting because of the light technique used because it brought out all the detail in the iris of the eye.
