Here, we have focused on the water droplets, and the person in the background is blurred out. It's a fun effect for creative photography!

For selective focus I set my phone on the table and adjusted the focal point over my phone so that it would focus on it and blur out everything else in the photo.

Photoshop RULEZ... Ok, I don't really talk OR type like that, but my point is proven.

Choice/I chose Jake Olson for his niche of often photographing people in nature at sunset, which is already a challenge as you race against the fading light.

Intention/Technical Since I chose the Portrait theme while being in nature the goal in this image was to isolate the portrait subjects from the busy background with selective POV, a shallow DOF by using f/2.8, while still wanting to capture to capture enough area with a 24mm focal length

Reference to the reading/ Lesson 57, Duchemin mentions how life moves so fast in the reading. I know people say often kids grow up fast too, so this moment special moment between father and son I was happy to capture.

Outcome/ The image is visually engaging because the sun is bright and bold and catches the attention of the viewer soon to lead eyes to the right at into the baby's eyes looking right back at the camera.

Edits/ The image was lightened and edited with the "sunshine" precept within Adobe Photoshop.
