Had a good time with a few up & coming artists from Wisconsin & Minnesota taking some shots for their upcoming projects... It's always nice to shoot people that are down to earth & have an all around good vibe the sessions always flow much smoother.
Selective colour treatment in PSP with blur applied to the background and slight colour enhancement to the flower.
"I know, I know. Yuck. Selective color can be cringeworthy, however, when done right, it brings compelling focus to the subject."
Happy Slider's Sunday everyone
These are the roses in my garden so thought I would try a little selective colour for this week's slide.

I don't use selective color very often. In fact, the last one that I did was also a sailboat shot -- nearly a year and a half ago. I think it works here, although it's an obvious play. If you're wondering at the weird settings, it's because this was a shot of opportunity, not my intended pursuit...

During my walkabout this weekend, I spied this splash of color in the window of 1001 Louisiana Street, the recently renovated Kinder Morgan headquarters. For 400 million dollars, this building could be yours.
I don't normally do selective color shots, but I thought it I would try it with my new Photoshop mad skillz. Of course, I was inspired (as usual) by Christian, a friend of mine. Check out his work here: chmeermann He is extraordinarily talented.
Taken for the Selective Color weekly theme. Use the HSL tool and moved the sliders to pick all but the red, then brought the saturation way down and the luminance down slightly. I like how this preserved a little bit of the red hues in the stem seed pods.
