Week 48 - Selective Colour
This is the Christmas tree at St Pancras Railway Station featuring a massive assortment of Disney toys - I just wanted to highlight the star of the show, the ever young, ever loved (sing along now, folks.....)
M-I-C-K-E Y M-O-U-S-E !!!!!
I don't use selective color very often. In fact, the last one that I did was also a sailboat shot -- nearly a year and a half ago. I think it works here, although it's an obvious play. If you're wondering at the weird settings, it's because this was a shot of opportunity, not my intended pursuit...

Just wait for image to load and right click then save, set as desk top image and its pretty nice.
I sized it down to 85% of the original so its still huge but faster to download
During my walkabout this weekend, I spied this splash of color in the window of 1001 Louisiana Street, the recently renovated Kinder Morgan headquarters. For 400 million dollars, this building could be yours.
I don't normally do selective color shots, but I thought it I would try it with my new Photoshop mad skillz. Of course, I was inspired (as usual) by Christian, a friend of mine. Check out his work here: chmeermann He is extraordinarily talented.
Skinny saturday`s theme was "Growing older".

Carrie you couldn't decide between black/white and color so I decided to play. Hope you don't mind! This was the perfect playground for selective coloring

For the record...this Peaches and Cream corn was fresh, locally grown and damn tasty.

Macros with a non-macro lens are dodgy at best, but at least the front half is reasonable. The only damselflies out and about on this early Spring morning. Common Bluetail in Minnippi Parkland.

My partner for Push #11 is JayneBoo
She has an amazing eye and talent which especially shows in her nature pics.
Her challenge for me was Selective Color. I have never done selective color other than using preset features on my camera, but at the suggestion of my daughter, I downloaded a free Photo Editor called Gimp. It worked wonderfully. The real challenge was finding the right subject, some old Mardi Gras beads...lol This is what I came up with after lots of trial and error. Thanks, Jayne for yet another FUN challenge.

Taken for the Selective Color weekly theme. Use the HSL tool and moved the sliders to pick all but the red, then brought the saturation way down and the luminance down slightly. I like how this preserved a little bit of the red hues in the stem seed pods.

Here's a repost of a '31 Ford Coupe (with a '32 grille) in selective color. This was taken at a rod run at Denver's Bandimere Speedway in 1998.
