Day 5 random campsite (Segment 19) to random campsite (Segment 20)
Not a cloud in sight ... anywhere.
Started off chilly and in the 40s. The sun was shining brightly though, so it warmed up quickly. Saw a large pine tree which reminded me of Sequoias ... this was still CO right? There were several more miles in the large meadow/valley. I noticed a fenced area which might have been a spring, but a small sign had DEATH scribed on it. Then up and over a short bump which was through an aspen grove. The trail finally wandered down to Cochetopa Creek.
Cochetopa Creek was flowing very well. The previous few days had intermittent water sources. That would not be a problem today as the trail followed this creek for many miles. I thought I would have to ford it but someone had put a log over it to bridge the gap. Although this area was completely exposed, it was very enjoyable hiking. Easy, unique terrain, fall colors and a meandering creek. One of my favorite sections so far. Did encounter some steep sidehill and had some glimpses of Organ Mountain. San Luis Peak is hiding behind.
A few miles before the end of Segment 19, the trail entered La Garita Wilderness. Wilderness Areas are specially designated areas that remain undeveloped and maintain primeval character. There are additional restrictions to visiting and on the Colorado Trail bicycles are not allowed in Wilderness Areas.

Im Herbst 2017 wird ein Schwesternschiff der Genting Dream, die World Dream, an die Reederei Dream Cruises abgeliefert. Das Schiff mit der Baunummer S. 712 hat eine Länge von 335,35 Metern, eine Breite von 39,7 Metern und eine Größe von 151.300 GT.

World Dream is a cruise ship that is now under construction (MeyerWerft Papenburg) for Dream Cruises. She was previously ordered as World Dream for Star Cruises. The ship is designed for the Asian cruise market and has a large number of restaurants and casinos along with specially designed cabins.
World Dream has a length of 335.35 meters, a width of 39.7 meters, a size of 151,300 GT, and a top speed of over 23 knots. The delivery is scheduled for autumn 2017.
When completed,World Dream will be among the biggest cruise ships in the world

This is a photograph from the 3rd annual running of the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 5th February 2017 at 12:00. The race attracted over 1,200 participants which shows a 100% increase on last year's participation. The event shows growth year on year mirroring the growing popularity of the race. The race started on the Trim/Athboy road on the town's ring road and proceded to take an anti-clockwise loop out towards the village of Dunderry and townland of Kilbride before returning back to the Trim Industrial Estate for the finish. The route is held on quiet country roads with some hills at 3, 6, 8 mile segments.

The weather for this year's race was perfect for racing. There was a hard frost overnight but this brought clear bright skies and crisp air. There was no real wind to speak of.
Waterstops were provided at the 4.5 and 7 mile marks on the course. All access roads were well stewarded. The event was sponsored by Bewleys 1840 and many local business establishments. Credit must go to the Trim AC team for their flawless organisation. If the first three years of this year are anything to go on then this race will continue to grow. For runners around the North Leinster area this 10 mile race serves as a perfect training progress stepping stone to the Bohermeen Half Marathon which will take place in March 2016 and is located only 15 minutes drive from Trim.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. My 'Cell Suicide' final line up consists of basic silhouettes and androgynous shape, with detachable accessories. The accessory is the main part of this piece; when I was looking into cancer cells I decided to look into developing round cell shapes, and printing onto some of the segments that make up the sphere. This is a way of making these dormant and hidden cancers visible. For this project we had to work towards a consumer profile and design principles. Some of my design principles were, simplicity, statement piece, versatility, so these designs all apply perfectly to my design principles and the accessory will be detachable so that it makes the garment become versatile. The main garment will be made of nude latex, with a very slight nude print around cuffs and hems, and the accessory will be made from neoprene and jersey knitting yarn.

This is a photograph from the finish of the 2nd annual running of the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 7th February 2016 at 12:00. The race attracted over 650 participants and already the event shows growth on last year's number of participants. The race started on the Trim/Athboy road on the town's ring road and proceded to take an anti-clockwise loop out towards the village of Dunderry and townland of Kilbride before returning back to the Trim Industrial Estate for the finish. The route is all quiet country roads with some hills at 3, 6, 8 mile segments. Today the weather was every runner's nightmare: very cold air temperatures and from mile 4 until the finish a very strong headwind. While the weather was dry without any rain the windy conditions made a very fair course challenging. Waterstops were provided at the 4.5 and 7 mile marks on the course. All access roads were well stewarded. The event was sponsored by Bewleys 1840 and many local business establishments. Credit must go to the Trim AC team for their flawless organisation. This race will continue to grow. For runners around the North Leinster area this 10 mile race serves as a perfect training progress stepping stone to the Bohermeen Half Marathon which will take place in March 2016 and is located only 15 minutes drive from Trim. This yet again proves that a great club with great local support and volunteers can organise great road races!

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Trade and Development Board, sixtieth session (16-27 September 2013)
My alarm clock was not set last night, as I was so desperately tired after three nights in a row of very little sleep. As a result, I slept in really late this morning, so am posting my photos around noon. I turned on my computer and left the room. A minute or two later, when I returned, I found a black screen with white writing on it - don't know if I just missed seeing the Blue Screen of Death, which I got a few days ago. Panic now sets in, as I think of many months' worth of photos not backed up at all! Looks like I'd better back-up at least a few photo folders.
Yesterday was a birding trip to Bow Valley Provincial Park, west of Calgary, at the very foot of the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. Takes around 45 minutes to drive there, via Highway 1, from the western edge of Calgary. This was the park that I finally made myself drive to on 20 July, with my youngest daughter. Can't wait to tell her what we saw yesterday, that made the day "exciting" as well as thoroughly enjoyable - and not a single photo to show it, ha. A good thing she and I didn't come across certain of yesterday's sightings on 20 July! I'm going to use the trip leader's write-up of the events of the day - thank you, Andrew, for yet another great trip to a very beautiful place. Each year, this trip to the park makes such a great day. Hope you don't mind my using your report here! I should add that all these birds were far, far away, too far for photos and, for me with no binoculars, too far to see either properly or at all.
"We had six participants on this trip.
We arrived at BVPP with early morning temperatures which started to warm up.
We walked around the Flowing Waters Trail where we heard many of the species we recorded. The highlight of this segment was a Blue Headed Vireo (conceivably a Cassin's but we decided Blue Headed was the higher probability, based on location and the song). I do have some photographs but doubt they would delineate between the two species. (Later: confirmed to be a Cassin's).
We had lunch in the Whitefish area and then went over to the Many Springs Trail.
As we were assembling in the small Many Springs Trail's car parking area, we looked back along the road we just driven in by and saw a fairly large very glossy, very black Black Bear amble across the road and vanish into the woods.
We carried on walking around the trail. About half way around we heard a call from ahead which sounded something like "bear on the trail". We exchanged a few shouted communications with the group ahead of us and
concluded that there was a black bear with two cubs wandering around on the trail about 200m ahead of us. We all looked at the (suddenly small looking) bear spray I had with me and decided to turn around and head back to the car park. There were still six of us when we got back.
We stopped briefly at Middle Lake and then stopped at the Morleyville Church on Hwy 1A on the way back to Calgary.
We had cell coverage all day so I recorded all of the sightings on the Birdlog app, which created the convenient summary of the trip which follows.

The precast, reinforced concrete viaduct segments are transported from the Casting Shed to the Casting Yard where they are stored until required.
Go to Construction of the Second Severn Crossing set to view all the images.
Large area of native prairie plants line the trail. Ice Age National Scenic Trail, Blackhawk Segment.
Day 2 (Segment 25)

After the pass were a few switchbacks. Switchbacks tend to lessen the steepness, as well as prevent water erosion. Dropping from the treeline the trail went in and out of the trees. There were a couple of nice cascading waterfalls. I stumbled upon a plaque commemorating Gudy Gaskill who was known as the ‘Mother of the Colorado Trail.’ She worked tirelessly to ensure the Colorado Trail became a reality. Although the CT follows the same footpath as the Continental Divide Trail for many miles, it does not share the same designation as a National Scenic Trail.
As Grizzly Peak loomed over and shortly after finding the plaque prominently displayed on a large rock, the trail crossed Cascade Creek via a bridge. Having built several trail bridges myself (on the AT), I can imagine the difficulty in the construction process, including the transportation of materials to this isolated area.
Steady uphill, sidehill climb was next. The trail meandered along with still awesome views. Encountered a ‘false’ pass only to make the turn and see that I had another ½ mile or so to go. False summits, or a pass in this instance, are usually disappointing when you realize you haven’t quite attained the goal. With a very prominent, busting through the pines, Engineer Mountain, it was difficult to be disappointed. A stunning, singular peak reaching to almost 13, 000 ft (12,968’).
A huge meadow with frequent trees was pleasant to stroll through giving a final glimpse of Engineer Mountain. After a short dirt road hike, I took a break at Celebration Lake which some online maps claim to be Bolam Lake. Bolam Pass Rd is also here as the beginning of Segment 26. There were bikers and other day users enjoying the abundant sunshine here.
A few more hours of hiking led me through another nice meadow. I was feeling pretty good as I stopped at a water source for dinner. Oftentimes campsites are dry so I would stop early for dinner and camel up for the next day. Water was plentiful today but tomorrow includes a dry section through Segment 27.
After about 15.9 miles of hiking, I found a decent campsite nestled amongst some tall pines. Couldn’t have asked for a better weather day with no clouds in sight all day.
