Once in a while we dine with friends. Meaning; taking the whole evening to enioy 5-6 dishes, and than mostly unusual recipes.

This time we wanted to no only care about dressing up the food, but also the table. So we went to several recycleshops and bought this pile of supposedly ugly plates. A different plate for every dish.

We meant to bring them back after washing up, but I kind of started to like the ugly pile....

SNOWBALL FIGHT on Main Street, Placerville, 1922, was sent by John F. Ferguson of Sisters, Ore., a small town near Bend, Ore. "Attached is a photo from the Carlos Duff collection taken in 1922. The caption on the back of the photo reads 'High school boys handing it to everybody in sight.' Mr. Duff was my uncle." John F. Ferguson is also the son of the late Elvis "Fergie" Ferguson, who was El Dorado County treasurer-tax collector from 1975 to 1985. The sign on the left reads, " J. McCuen, Furniture and Hardware, New and Secondhand Goods." Next to the youths in the vacant lot is the Mountain Democrat office and Placerville Hardware. Next to Placerville Hardware is an ice cream parlor, which later became Florence's Dress Shop. The tall building is the Masonic Lodge. Next to that and across from the Belltower is the Placerville Newsstand. The Belltower has a platform and wooden balustrade that hosted bands in the summer. Photo courtesy John F. Ferguson

This cute little dress was made from a secondhand men's button down shirt, using Simplicity pattern 3808. I also used vintage buttons from Roxypop.

Bought on the flea market. Maybe its a doll?

Bought this bowl at a thrift store for like a dollar. The wood was unfinished when I got it. I added the color and stain. It turned out quite nice I think.

A little hard to see from the photo (and even harder in the front-on image), this is some sort of basket with turkeys on either side. Left it there.

Lots of books in an old three storey house and very helpful staff (got me a chair to sit on while I broused)
