A Pinkie Pie Ornement I found at Carlton Card's and gift shop. Real happy for this find, since it'll help me with shaping pony bodies for Sculpies.
My brother and I had the Aurora kit in the early seventies. I loved the vacuum formed plastic bases that those old kits had. Atlantis doesn't include those in their new releases of these kits so I decided to make one. I used a piece of foam for the hill, then covered it with sculpy bake clay. I covered the whole thing in wood glue (except for the rocky areas), then poured dirt on it. The grass is paint brush bristles, and the trees are cheap toy palms I got on eBay.
Head sculpt is sculpted with Sculpy clay then refined with Apoxie clay.
Shirt by BBI from female aviator pilot
Jeans from a female doll figure then restitched for slim fit
custom made sneakers
slim body by Run'A F2. very hard to find and only have one more extra slim body for future Murdoc or newly sculpted 2D head.
Mic with stand custom made

Themes of comfort, community, and shared humanity course throughout Richard Duarte Brown’s work. He forges connections by sharing narratives that unveil layers of personal development and stir individual strength, wisdom, and courage. This collection of mixed media work documents what Brown describes as his “East Side Canon”—the community he’s formed through in-person and social media connections. “There is a deep cry in my heart to see us heal as a community, city, and nation,” Brown writes. “The dialogue in the work craves relationship and the need to connect. The colors call to me saying I want to live in this moment.”
Richard Duarte Brown is a master artist with the TRANSIT ARTS Youth Arts Program and the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education’s (OAAE) Art in the House program. For more than 30 years, Duarte has dedicated his talents to helping young people in Columbus through countless programs, including the Short Stop Youth Center, the King Arts Complex, the OAAE Artists-in-Schools program, the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s (GCAC) Children of the Future, Ebony Boys, Art Safe, and Art Possible Ohio. He is also a member of the Ohio Teaching Artist Roster. In 2022, Brown was the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Arts Education and the Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson Fellowship from GCAC, and the Columbus Museum of Art. His murals can be seen throughout the city, bringing comfort and inspiration to countless viewers.

The frame is made from punched cardstock circles.
Blogged here.
This figure is the biggest one I've made. It was a huge plaster mold for the head! I've since broken the mold, but there were about 20 pours, and several in this edition were made into just busts.
about 30"x20"x30". She is made of porcelain, cloth, antique lace, leather, mohair, china paint.
Substructure is, wire, cloth, fiber fill. Bamboo chair.

I’ve had these little guys finished for just a few weeks, but with classes starting this week I thought I’d take the time to post them. I believe the first time I heard about these creatures, known as Tardigrades, Water Bears, or Moss Piglets was on either Animal Planet, or the Discovery Channel. Fascinating little critters, if you are unfamiliar with them, take a look; you’ll fall in love with them too, I promise: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigrade
Anyway, this figure was sculpted with Sculpy clay and prepared for the molding process. I made a two-part rubber block mold using Polytek 74-30 Mold Rubber. The cast positives are made of Easy-Flo Clear Plastic, another Polytek product. From start to finish, the process from sculpting to the finished figure took about a week.
