Putting pen to tablecloth, literally, at the Women's Cycle Forum at The Ukrainian Club in Edinburgh. This was about letting loose with our burning issues to do with cycling and brainstorming possible solutions.

An elementary language text book with a student's doodling on the cover lies in the rubble a year after the 5.12 earthquake caused 7,000 schools in rural Sichuan to collapse. According to official estimates (released today), 5,335 students died in the quake.
Grr, this was not as easy as it was for the animals - maybe because it was real people and not photos?
My other issue was that my brain kept wanting to do one liners instead of scribbling!

Scribbles done with micron pen and pencil and possibly watercolor if i feel really into it...

Experimenting with vector simplication and blending the path outlings for this result. Maybe a tad abstract, but that's what I'm going after. Still a work in progress. :)
I asked the boyfriend to draw on my chest with a ballpoint pen, then mimicked his designs with eyeliner. We're fun like that.
