What a fantastic day as science fiction and movie fans from all over the North East got to meet at North Shields. It was a fantastic day and my personal highlight was a meeting with the legendary David Warner. Loved meeting up with old friends and meeting some new ones too

The 4th Floor of the Chattanooga Public Library presents Zines & Screens, monthly back-to-back workshops on the last Saturday of the month to keep your creative juices flowing.

12pm-1:30pm

SCREEN PRINTING

This laid back screen printing workshop is for adults who would like to come play with squeegees, silk screens, ink and brushes. Bring in something to screen (a shirt, table cloth, pillow case, scarf, party invitations, whatever!) and create a stencil, screen and some sweet new artwork on the 4th Floor.

2pm-4pm

ZINE MAKING

We'll work with members of the Society of Ink and Paper to learn about indy publishing and zines, while creating some simple zines using available materials in the library's zine making lab.

View of the nave roof through the chancel screen at St Michael's, Baddesley Clinton.

St Michael's stands close to Baddesley Clinton Manor House, but is separated by a long leafy path and thus entirely surround by trees and rural beauty. It is generally kept open (I had the misfortune to find it locked on my first visit, which surprised the locals I met, but it has been open each time since).

It is a small building, simple chancel & nave with a tower, which appears to be entirely late medieval though the nave walls below the clerestorey are much earlier. The best feature inside is the five light east window, containing some much restored glass of the Tudor period, featuring a Crucifixion flanked by SS George & Catherine & Donors (two generations of the Ferrers family). The chancel also contains a late medieval tomb chest under an arch, recoloured but oddly lacking any kind of effigy or brass, just a plain slab on top.

It is a church of great charm that, unlike many in these parts, has had minimal Victorian intervention. For more see its entry on the Warwickshire Churches site below:-

Originally for the Guess Where UK? group.

A Bat had decided to make camp on our LED video screen in Willow's main auditorium. It took turning the LED screen to full brightness and quick flashing color patterns to wake him up and then he decided to fly off the screen and disappear into the darkness of the stage...he's still around!!

We hand print all our clothes using the screen print method. A pile with some of our screens...

Lensbaby! ....on a rainy day

This photo was taken of a window screen in the rain. Later, it was produced as a large art piece and resides at a very close friend's home - which makes me happy.

Small and unimportant things make a complete game. This is one of them: a loading screen for the ice zone.
