It is a large building mostly dating from about 1450, and the large number of clear glass windows give it a “light and airy” feeling during the day. It holds up to 240 people.

The Kings' Screen, also known as the Quire Screen, is one of the most famous parts of York Minster. Unusually, the screen is asymmetrical, featuring 15 carved statues of kings of England, which means the doorway leading to the Quire is off centre.
The screen was designed around 1420 and features English kings ranging from William the Conqueror to Henry VI. It’s believed it was originally intended to feature 14 statues up to Henry V, but a hasty revision was needed when his reign was unexpectedly cut short in 1422 before the screen was finished, and it became necessary to include Henry VI.
Old window in one of hundreds of abandoned structures in the near ghost town of Thompson Springs (now just Thompson), Utah. Playing around with the view from the car as we drove along, I was interested in the variety of views I could catch in one frame. So I started shooting just to see what I could get using my iPhone. I don't know if this idea is a pretty familiar way to shoot ... but it is a new experiment for me ;o)
We were returning from our first trip up the coast since lockdown in March so the windscreen has caught some dust and sand! We were passing the Kirkyard as we drove into the village (link in the first comment field) and the 20 sign is to slow down for the Primary School (I wonder if it will be opening again next week?)

Union Pacific SD40-2 2996 was leading a pair of GEs on a coal empty in Des Plaines.
A maintenance in the way crew was heating the tracks with fire to expand the steel to make a joint in rail replacement, creating a smoke screen.

This is a close-up photo of the afternoon sunlight casting the dancing shadow of a bamboo window blind on an old television, and the reflection of my left hand in the TV screen.
One of the activities at the Baltimore Artfest was learning how to paint a screen. Looks fun -- like painting really big pixels.
