LANDOVER, Md. -- Kirk Cousins still has thrown for more interceptions than touchdown passes in the NFL. And it's going to take some work to get his 4-9 record as a starter above the .500 mark.

At least the earnest, soft-spoken, fourth-year quarterback for the Washington Redskins now has a signature victory, thanks to a fourth-quarter comeback and a zero-turnover performance.

Cousins capped a 90-yard drive with a go-ahead, 4-yard TD toss to Pierre Garcon with 26 seconds left Sunday, lifting the Redskins past the Philadelphia Eagles 23-20 on Sunday.

"That final drive -- I wasn't capable of doing that when I came in the league as a rookie. It takes time. It takes failure. It takes learning from experiences," said Cousins, who earned the starting QB job ahead of 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III in preseason. "A culmination of, I guess it would be, three-plus seasons' worth of work got me to a point where I was able to make the necessary plays on that drive."

Sam Bradford threw three second-half touchdown passes for the Eagles (1-3), who trailed 13-0 at halftime. Their new kicker, Caleb Sturgis, missed an extra-point attempt and a 33-yard field-goal try -- four big points in what turned out to be a three-point, back-and-forth game.

"It's tough knowing I didn't do my part," said Sturgis, signed last week to replace the injured Cody Parkey.

Starting at its own 10 with a little more than six minutes remaining, Washington (2-2) used a balance of runs -- five for 41 yards -- and passes -- Cousins went 6 for 10 for 44 yards -- to work its way down the field to take the lead for good.

"A lot of dinking and dunking and shallow crosses and running game," Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis said.

Cousins' last three completions went to Garcon, for a total of 32 yards.

"He is one of the greatest competitors on this football team," coach Jay Gruden said about Garcon, "and people feed off of that."

On the winning score, the Eagles sent a blitz at Cousins, but he put the football in a tight window, and Garcon did the rest.

"I felt hits from all over, from everybody," said Garcon, who played the closing minutes despite what Washington said was a sprained knee. "I looked and I was glad I was on the other side of the (goal) line, instead of, you know, a yard short."

Cousins finished 31 for 46 for 290 yards, the one TD -- and, most importantly for a guy with a pair of two-interception games already this season, no turnovers. He did fumble a snap in the first half at Philadelphia's 1, but recovered it and plunged forward for a touchdown, with the help of a push from running back Matt Jones.

It was the first rushing TD allowed by Philadelphia this season.

Bradford was 15 for 28 for 270 yards, with touchdown passes of 62, 39 and 10 yards. He entered the game with three TD tosses all season and hadn't completed a pass of at least 40 yards until one that went for 45 to Nelson Agholor in the second quarter. Symbolic of the way things are going for coach Chip Kelly's much-ballyhooed system this season, though, Agholor couldn't handle a pitch from Ryan Mathews on a reverse on the very next play, resulting in a fumble.

DeMarco Murray, who missed last week's victory over the Jets with a leg injury, gained 36 yards on eight carries. He voiced disappointment with the way he's being used by Kelly.

After leading the NFL in rushing last season for Dallas, Murray joined Philadelphia as a free agent, and has 47 yards on 29 carries so far.

Asked if he's getting the ball enough, Murray replied: "No, I'm not. I don't think I am. But it's how the plays are being called. I love this offense, I love playing with these guys. It's just how it is."

External screen on Brisbane Girls Grammar School. This has two layers of vertical slats angled slightly differently in the vertical plane. It screens the external corridors between the classrooms.

I have been looking at it for ages from the various roadways and the way the slats work is that this shimmering effect changes like oil on water in the sun as you move.

I have found the designer of the 'moire screen' M3 who is discussed here:

Brisbin, Christopher A. (2009) optical_affects: fenestrations and optical fascinations in the re-embodied architecture of South-East Queensland. In: McNamara, Andrew E. (Ed) Sweat : Sub-Tropicality in Art, Design and Architecture. Institute of Modern Art. (In Press)

Abstract

Fuelled by the emergence of new computer-mediated design and fabrication technologies, the means of conceiving and constructing architectural form has never before been so open to radical figurative and procedural transformation. It appeared that almost anything was possible at the turn of the new millennium. However, this emerging techno-determinist approach to architectural design generally denied the synaesthetic human body as an agent in design conception, effectively perpetuating the prevailing traditions of Western occularcentricism. The formal and spatial character of architecture that resulted in the 1990s was effectively reduced to questions of surface and flatness. However, a series of Australian contemporary architectural projects by architects Elenberg Fraser in Melbourne, and by M3 Architects in Brisbane, began to question this monocular tradition, choosing instead to mine the field of Art in search of optical effects that engaged directly with the observer on an embodied sensorial level of cognition. This chapter will demonstrate that such new conceptions of surface affect provides an alternative functional and conceptual method through which to transcend the dictatorial constraints presented by vernacular traditions; such as those effecting climatic screening and compositional fenestration in the architecture of South-East Queensland. This chapter will demonstrate how Elenberg Fraser’s Dazzle Shed and M3’s moiré screen used in the Brisbane Girls Grammar School are exemplars of projects that seek ‘cognitive surface disturbance’ in order to sensorialy embody the beholder. These projects directly draw upon concepts of pictorial composition and optics borrowed from the de Stijl art project of the 1920-30s, and upon the Op-art experiments of the 1960-70s. This chapter, therefore speculates that such projects proffer a dramatically different conception of surface and spectatorial engagement than that which is purported by the prevailing ‘sup-trop-arcadian’ and ‘timber & tin’ traditions of South-East Queensland architecture.

There are many Custom Metal Projects that I create

that require a high level of precise "fitting" in peoples homes.

I can't remember the last time I had one as challenging as this!

The screen was required to fit inside the Granite opening.

Easy - right ???

Except the Fireplace opening had 4 different dimension(s) - each side was different-

and if the "slop" or gap was too large- say over .125"-

light would show though-

and that's no good.

OH - and the "floor" of the fireplace sloped back- so to keep the frame sitting flush to the stone front-

I needed to add custom levelers to the weighted bottom plate- to tilt the frame front or back.

take a look- closely.......and tell me what you see??!

Not that I'm breakin' my arm pattin' myself on the back or anything- but lemme say here-

SIMPLE- ain't always so simple!

I was going through some old art work and came across some screen prints I did years ago when I was first teaching myself to screen print. I have decided to incorporate these early screen prints into my Sketchbook Project sketchbook. I can't wait until I can get back in the studio and start screen printing on silk again.

Smoke Screen Dania can wear absolutely anything. I thought her extremely dark make up would make her very limited but she is one of the most versatile dolls I've ever had.

An anonymous worker testifies to the fear and intimidation organized workers face on the job at a hearing organized by the Milwaukee County Labor Council. The screen was used to protect the identities of workers who were concerned that speaking out could cost them their jobs. This worker was a pilot who told a story about a lifetime pilot for the "hometown" airline who experienced a hostile atmosphere for organizing. The pilot was eventually fired, but thanks to a fight by the pilot's union he was able to get his job back and is still flying today.

Use this as a prank on a friends flat screen. Load it up, walk away and watch the tears begin to flow.
