On the left, a superior scratchbuild (with Britbus wheels) and the right, a Britbus/Magazine wreck...
BLZ 6512 is a SWB MetroRider and is often used on the 17/6 services, where it's quick speed is handy though capacity is sometimes a bit low. It seems popular with drivers and passengers and we hope to add more MetroRiders in the future...
On the right is VIW 6243, a diecast. I'd long wanted a Metrorider and jumped at the chance to have this one. It came to repaint time and the window pillars snapped out...the metal used was of terrible quality and as such I decided to scrap it, and hopefully one day I will have a better one in the fleet! The green and black livery is thanks to my girlfriend, I let her loose with the paint on some scrappers...I also have a Paramount in yellow with black zebra stripes...
First cast of my scratchbuild model of irish church in Dublin. It is in N-scale 1:160. I prepared all plans, made prototype, molds and resin casts.
KitBashed Locomotives - Paduchah Rebuild GP10/GP11 Custom Kitbashed
HO Scale custom kitbash / build of a replica of the GP7/GP9 locomotives that were rebuild by the IC Paducah, Kentucky shops in the late 1970's producing the GP10/GP11. This undecorated model was done by James Adams of Affordable Model to match the CIRR #1811 prototype.

It has taken a while to get to this stage but all the cutting, fettling and fiddling has given us the bit of Aberdonian texture that I was really keen to achieve.
Sadly the photography really shows up the mis-alignment of the stone blocks on the end wall but these things are all part of the learning curve and something I'd take more care with next time.
My first scratchbuild, sort of. A Leyland Swift with PMT's Knype body, one of 11 made. (2 other Knypes were mounted on Mercedes chassis). I've made this from card, a cereal box as it seemed the right sort of thickness. Some places have been reinforced-particularly the front and rear as these seemed the weakest parts.
Since this photo filler has been applied, which will be rubbed down tomorrow and with a bit of luck painting can begin whilst I make a start on the interior and chassis-I plan to make the chassis and possibly interior base out of plasticard to add strength.
...some have asked if the latest corridor I've created is a total cast or replicated in photoshop....it's a total cast guys smile emoticon And here's the image to prove it....and it's nice and heavy! The segments need to be cleaned up, accessories added and each will have additional details added to make them unique to one another. Casts made using Smooth-On Smooth-cast 321 #alien #nostromo #castings #smoothon #dioramas #scratchbuilding #modelbuilding

Phil Keppers has a great NP Layout and is looking to build a trestle. Given the craft cutter I just got, this seemed like a good project to try making some pieces for. I cut everything in this pier from .010 styrene. The ability to make the girders with holes quickly is a huge advantage of this machine.

This is a custom Hearts of Steel : Optimus Prime, built by Griffith of monolith productions, painted by me. Its about 300 parts. This was one of the most difficult paint jobs ever for me, I had to use special resin adhering paints for the base coats. From there, I coated with lacquers and detailed with Testors Model Master enamels.
All model is scratchbuild.Only MG gun ,jack and tools are provided from line scale plastic Kits.1/ 35 scale.
seems like kind of a waste, since I only need two pulls, but I did NOT want to scratchbuild two of these.
Ma.k Maschinen Kreiger scratchbuilt space suit, made with old packaging, pens, old mouse parts and other "junk" bits. Body was made from a large spherical two peice promotional chewing gum packet coated with a layer of white DAS clay
Nostromo build update..."Mother" Security Portal - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. "Security Portal" - it's the doorway section with the supposed scan that lights up allowing access to the "Mother's Womb" as Ridley Scott likes to call it. The first section of the corridor that leads to the Nostromo's master computer - a work in progress. I realized it's a tad taller than it should be...not much of a concern. Had to compensate for making the entrance from the bridge a tad too large. Still works smile emoticon
SO MUCH DETAIL into what I thought would be a simple panel wall. The more I studied the photos however, the more I realized just how much attention was given to every corner of these stage designs. Brilliant and insane.
One day soon I will master LEDs and how to wire them appropriately. Knowing that, I decided to create the doorway using clear acrylic as the frame. This is so I can add LED panels to the exterior later and recreate the lighting effect. Currently, the light is emanating from a handheld LED light...but even this offers an awesome effect. Next step is to sculpt the padding to the interior of the doorway, add a control panel then begin to build out into the small security corridor. #nostromo #alien #mother #MUTHUR #mastercomputer #weyland #dallas #tomskerritt
The first scratchbuild of my new basement. Not sure where it will end up, like many of my other projects there is no plan. This one might just have some type of interior as well. Compare to www.flickr.com/photos/look4trains/6304106209/in/set-72157....
